Never played Crash or Spyro when I was young and didn't know anybody that had them. Played a shit load of Mario 64 though.

Of the playstation games, what are the absolute essential Crash and Spyro games to play? I'll give them a good fucking try.

Most people seem to like Spyro 2 or 3 best, but I've always been most fond of the original. It's a more streamlined experience and you don't have to deal with annoying side characters or a dumb story.

I agree, but I think it's just because I never had a ps1 as a kid. It reminds me a bit of glover, everything looks muddy and the artstyle is all over the place. Compare that to mario64 or BK where everything is clean and consistent by comparison.

Spyro looks like he controls really well though
