I know im a bit late, but i just finished lisa, as well as the dlc. I really liked it, whats /v/'s opinion?
>>
>>377628868
Hit me right in the feels.

Love games where you make a lot of decisions and shit goes wrong.
>>
>>377628868
Undertale ripoff.
>>
Most people here liked it
Heard the sequel was bad though
>>
>>377628868
Hipster retro-indie shit. Notice how all of faggots who talk about "games" like this always blather on about the story and characters instead of the gameplay? That's a sign that the game is terrible and you didn't actually have fun.
>>
>>377629049
It came out before undertale you dumb cunt
>>
>>377629278

I enjoyed the gameplay.
But I guess different people have fun different ways than you do, huh champ?
>>
>>377628868
In a wierd way, LISA probably was one of my favorite games of all time.

I played it in a lark and it pulled me in like a death grip. Slowly, I found myself thinking about it.

I am still not sure if it was even a good game or not. I just really liked it. I wouldn't replay it, but it defenitly left it's mark on my memory.
>>
>>377629223
Yeah, it was a bit unnecessary in my opinion
>>
>>377628868
If your hankering for more LISA play the fan games. They are about as good as the main game.
I really liked LISA the pointless, and LISA the hopeful
>>
>>377628868
Excellent game with intentionally painful gameplay and superb OST.
One of my all time favorites, though the dlc is garbage besides adding cool new OST tracks.
>>377629049
Low-effort bait.
>>377629278
You're wrong, gameplay is important but not the only contributing factor to having fun.
I'd give LISA maybe a 7/10 tops for an overall score but it's still one of the best games I've ever played.
>>377629605
Personally I tried but couldn't get into them, it just wasn't the same.
>>
>>377629523
Same, I just can't stop thinking about it
>>
>>377628868
>>377628868

Probably my favorite indie game.
Been meaning to replay it because I've been in the hospital for like a month and all the laptop I'm on will run is 2d stuff anyway, but I've been stuck on FTL as of late.
>>
>>377628868
Very good game, addicting and fun in it's own way.
And also godly OST.

In a good way.
>>
/v/ can't stop sucking LISA cock and calls anyone not praising it Undertale fan.
>>
>>377628868
It's great

Don't play the DLC
>>
>>377630163
Why not?
>>
>>377630286
It's really boring due to 1-2 party member combat with no recruits and the plot is really dumb in a lot of ways. The ending is alright but it just lacks the charm of the original.
>>
>>377630286
It belongs in a trashcan

>>
>>377630286
Do it, its worth it for the bosses and Buddy.
Sindy gallows is the best.
>>
>/v/ loved it unconditionally for 6 months
>Suddenly gets a front-page feature on Steam
>Suddenly half of /v/ hates it

Pottery.

But seriously, it's fucking great. Best Bulldozer combat in any game ever.
>>
What did everyone think of Lisa: The Pointless? Tried it out for a bit, but fell out of the loop.

And, yeah the bosses and the ending are the only reasons you should buy this game.
>>
>>377631061
Is it completely finished? I only played it when it was incomplete, i think. I liked it, but I felt like everything was very spread out.
>>
Why was Buddy mad at Brad? I didn't understand that.
>>
>>377629223
>>377629596
The DLC sequel or the fan sequel?
The DLC sequel just gives people who didn't like the ambiguity of the game a few more details and the reason I liked it was because it was difficult.
The fan sequel I haven't played, but Dingaling apparently really liked it and praised the creators.
>>
>>377631316
Teenagers, man. They just think they are always right, no matter what. And they also find their parents to be their main antagonists.
Plus Buddy is female, so you gotta duplicate the effects of being a teenager.

It's genuinely good.

But The Joyful left me pretty bitter for how it treated Rando.
>>
>>377631316
>>377631478
I mean, I cut her fucking nipple off.
Brad is also abusive.
Insert various other reasons for her not liking a living piece of garbage... until he turns and the guilt kicks in big time.
>>
>>377631185
Last I checked the first 'chapter' was done--not sure what the timeline is on the next few bits.
>>
>>377631316
Because a child doesn't understand the concept that if she goes outside in a world without women she would, quite literally, be raped to death in moments. Brad also made her do things like practice killing with a knife so she would know how to do it. He didn't give her a cheery childhood and their relationship seems to have been at it's worst when the story started. Buddy also appears to be nearing adolescence. There are teenagers who start hating their parents at that age when their parents didn't keep them inside their whole childhood and make them kill tide up guys so it's not that weird that Buddy became resentful.

I think she's actually a really well written character in that sense. She's very realistically immature.
>>
>>377631451
>The fan sequel

sauce
>>
>>377628868

I gotta be honest here guys, the game's just way too hard for me. First round they made me go for hard mode without even being aware that it's hard mode, the second round I had to choose to either save my buddy or keep my loot, later I lost an arm and was dealing half the damage or some shit, while being addicted to those drugs. I started to look up walkthroughs and found out that lot's of party combinations are fucking terrible, so the further I came the less I was able to progress. The game just didn't want me to finish it. It's like endless suffering and I don't really need that in a game.
>>
>>377631316
She's still a kid raised by a depressive drug addict in a cave with a bunch of sweaty losers and wasn't allowed to go outside for several years of her life. From her perspective Brad's basically the devil, but of course she doesn't understand her significance in the world really. Or what some of Olathe's folks would do to her.

Then in the DLC she's definitely feeling Joy's effects. Obsessing over being self-sufficient, being 'free', that whole thing.

I think it looks fantastic for a fan game, but the mechanics are too unforgiving for my liking.

Never got around to beating it because I felt like I got unlucky with the finite amount of healing items and saves early on.
>>
>>377629523
it's a good game, with good atmosphere and gameplay but goddamn the story makes you feel like shit, would never want to fully experience again
>>
>>377631805
How the heck did you not comprehend that Terry was asking if you wanted to play in ultra-hard mode? Dingaling basically made it idiot-proof in the recent patches.

I'll admit the campfire randomness is kinda irritating, though. Easily circumvented when you know about the Inn and the Wrestling Bed, but those aren't readily available in the beginning.

I ended up doing a lot of save scumming on my playthrough.

I get that switching out between multiple dying party members is part of the theme, but I couldn't be arsed to keep grinding up with the B Team every time I hit a difficulty wall and the RNG decided to kill half my group.

It's only 1/3 complete but the amount of content and quality is fucking astonishing.
>>
>>377632068
You wouldn't really realistically make the connection, but making enemies angry or pissed off prevents them from using those instant kill attacks. The game sorta tells you on the status effect screen at the start, but it's kinda forgettable and doesn't directly tell you.
>>
>>377632103
Bitchin' soundtrack too.
>>
>tfw you realized Lord Humungus was the real good guy and this game only reinforced that opinion
>>
>>377632261
Still got wiped out by Russian Roulette though.
>>
>>377631742
Originalnon, yeah the fan sequel the Pointless. Dingaling the creator of the actual game found out about it and was really giddy, never expecting such a thing to be made. It's cool, I want to play it eventually. Go give it a shot.
>>
>>377631451
What's the opinion of Hopeful? I heard about it from NitroRad and after taking on the first gang I agree with him on the game.

>>377632103
looks very legit and I like the title since you could have the same premise but with a different characters and story
