Bloodborne can be progressed extremely quickly. You can blow through Gascoigne and Amelia in 20 minutes or less if you know what you're doing, and that opens up about a third of the game (as well as the DLC, which is about another third of the game.)

They didn't want to create the homogenous balance DS2 had late in its life, they wanted many people running many builds employing many mechanics.

I know, it's annoying to start over, but it just makes you better at the game to challenge yourself.

I strongly disagree. I don't se the logic in taking away a freedom as big as point reallocation once it was already introduced in a previous FROM Souls game.

I've already beaten the game twice. Those files already have so many weapons and runes, and the addition of new game plus already gives me that challenge.

I would like to experience new game plus on a different build (Bloodtinge and Dex) but I'm stuck on my strength and separate skill build for the other two saves.

Look at it this way, Arcane Builds are fucked until you get great blood gems you farm from chalice dungeons, and in the middles of pursuing the arcane build and realizing how much ass it is without the gems, you wish you could go back a relocate the points on other weapons you haven't tried yet.

The game's amazing but FROM took a step backwards removing such a great mechanic like point relocation. It doesn't promote different builds, it does the opposite and makes players research the fuck out of a games weapons and builds before playing it because every point used is a permanent change to your character.

Dodge to left at start when he charges. Focus his odd upward pointing leg. He works off of the broken limb system like any other so one you slash that leg a few times it will take 50% bonus as well as stunning/ccing him every now and then for free hits.

His ceiling climb and lebron jump are somewhat rng but just run for a second then roll spam forward. The charge can be bullshit which is why you should always be to his side.

Second phase stay close to him in front, and peel back his ugglies till he does his ultra mega sword slam shit, at which point just strafe dash him till it lands then fuck up his back and when hes done jizzing dash back to his front.

There's no point in making different builds. Just go 50/50/50/99 so you can do everything on one character. PVP is dead and co-op has passwords so you don't need to stay in a level range.
But yeah I agree, the game should've shipped with a respec feature. DaS2 got it right with Soul Vessels (limited amount per playthrough but can exchange Ascetics for more), DaS3 was a step forward (re-doing your characters appearance) and a step back (only 5 respecs per NG cycle).

Agreed, Runes were a mistake. It's basically the rings from Dark Souls except as a random drop with a million variations that only satisfies autistic super grinding. Chalice Dungeon should have been a separate mode that doesn't interact with the main game, kind of like Resident Evil Revelation's Raid Mode. Then you don't have to collect rare materials to build the dungeons or other stupid shit. It would be nice if there was a separate PvP mode, maybe with different characters based around builds. I'm not saying these should replace mechanics like co-op or invasion but it's crazy that there hasn't been anything like this in five games.

Kirkhammer's A scaling is actually a tiny bit stronger than Whirligig's S for no reason. Also has higher base AR.

That said, I never cared for the way the weapon felt for some reason. Especially coming from DS2's god-tier greathammers. It might also be related to the way it sounds, since it clangs on the ground more than slams. I actually really like how the Amygdalan Arm's hammer mode feels.

Just finished this game for the first time last week. I mained the cane.

Also I learned after I finished the game that I didn't get the best ending and that I completely forgot about Cainhurst Castle. I got the summons that said 'go here if you wanna go to the castle, stupid,' and I filed it away into the back of my mind and didn't remember until the end of the game. Oops.

How the fuck do people have problems with him?

In the first phase do the standard hug the legs routine you do with almost all large boss enemies.
Hug the legs and circle around and if things get tough dodge out of there.

He also has attacks that thrash around a lot but if you dodge out on time you can heal up and wait until he's done.

Once second phase kicks in just get in there immediately and start smacking him since his charge-up attack takes forever to charge and gives you free hits in the meantime.

The only trick to the whole fight is not to get caught in his thrashing around combos and circle around him which should be standard boss pattern at that point.

Axe is almost too good in terms of cheese, but as far as skill builds go, the cane is the weapon to go. Saw cleaver is just meh. Nobody keeps that shit anyway.

Axe is ok but theres plenty that other weapons can do that make it on par with them as well. The rally isnt such a big deal when the cleaver is going to knock beasts down all the time and since their knocked down you dont really need reach, but the extended cleaver still has really good reach and wide swing arc anyway. Complete nonsense.

In it's regular form it is great when dealing with simple enemies and in tight quarters since it hits fast so you tend to stunlock them and if things go south the attack animation is brief enough so you can dodge out as needed

In its transformed form it has massive range, serrated damage and it's great for crowd control and hitting bosses that have elevated weak points

On top of that it takes almost no stamina at all to use so you'll always have enough do dodge out or heal as needed.

In fact I can only assume people have problems with certain bosses since they picked "superior" weapons which hit harder but have far longer attack animations which leaves you wide open.
With the cane I had no problems with any of the bosses since the mobility due to more stamina available and the large attack range allowed me to easily control the flow of the combat.

Ludwigs has only two jump attacks and the time difference is great enough between them that you can treat it like the first and then switch to the second if necessary. I fight him in NG+7 for fun. The most consistent way I know is countering after he attacks instead of circle strafing and hoping for the best. You can stay just outside his attack range to safely see what he's going to do next.

His headbutt can be punished with an R2 every time if you're spaced far enough. He can do around 3 in a row if you're lucky, getting a lot of hits on his head.

The 4 hit swipe combo is insanely punishable if you run under his right arm after the second hit. Just be sure to stand in front of him for a second to make him commit to the full combo

Aim your camera up to help dodge his jump. And for the longer jump, relax and wait for blood to drip down before sprinting in one direction.

Also his breakable body parts is only his two sides and head. I wouldn't call it limb damage, just imo.

Is there anything particularly new on NG+? I've been playing through it again for fun, but want to know if I missed anything besides the stuff I missed the first time through.
