Someone asked both sites their opinions on Akiba's Beat.

NeoGaf irrationally hates it because thr franchise has referred to crossdressers as traps. They claim it's derogatory towards trans people and held a boycott for both titles.

/v/ loved Akiba's Trip despite its flaws and repetitive gameplay because it still offered a fun and unique experience. Nobody fucking cares about the "trap" controversy. But Akiba's Beat is still a shitty game and nothing like the originals, so /v/ also hates it.

Everyone hates Akiba's Beat, whether their reasons are political or gameplay-focused. There's a reason this game bombed hard in Japan and XSeed is retarded for spending so much time and money on a niche product that even the niche market doesn't want.
