I'm emulating P3FES. This is actually the first game I've emulated and I'm very surprised how well it works and how decent the game looks in general with increased resolution. PCSX2 really seems like a very nice program, I wasn't expecting emulation to be this painless.

PCSX2 is actually really good with most games.

The problem is a lot of high profile games that people would want to play don't work well (MGS3, ZOE2, SOTC, Xeno). You can brute force them to work if you've got the PC for it and there are tons of work arounds, hacks and fixes for them if you care to get into it but that's usually too much for your casual emulation faggot.

Nobunaga's Ambition: Iron Triangle.

Playing as the Oda on Hard in the 1555 scenario. So far so good. Had an entire Coalition (Uesugi, Mori, Miyoshi, Suzuki, Chosokabe...) against me, which I beat and then I won some territory as well.

Is a matter of time until I control Japan by now. Only ones that could pose a thread somewhat are Takeda and Uesugi, but I'm still drafting more tropos overall even if I end up losing a battle by the end of the year, so it doesn't matter.

It's not 60 FPS. It basically just represents the speed of the game on actual hardware, so the '60' basically means full speed. PCSX2 is pretty dumb, but at least it works.

In terms of GPUs, budget is usually good enough.

Tbh I think we underestimate how the previous gens will attract a decent amount of younger people, I think the majority of us in /v/ have played games we were to young to play when they came, and played on systems before us. The old gens were damn comfy and the PS2's status as a generation defining console with the sheer amount of games on the system will definitely get people who were perhaps born after the system release as least emulating it.

I tried Onimusha a few months ago and it was completely broken in hardware mode; all character models would appear on top of the background layer at all times, when you'd have things like a cave you go into and the camera changes to reveal the enemy in it, but with the emulation issue you could see them before the camera change. Software mode fixed that but had problems with chests floating off the ground instead.

There's a mod that allows you to play with either the 360 controller or dualshock as if you were playing on console, and it works like a charm.

The game is badly optimized needless to say, just don't deactivate the frame limiter and get used to those 25 FPS, but even the PS2 version has that anyways so... no significant advantage overall.

Koei games are a good start. There's Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Nobunaga's Ambition, and Kessen

SRPGs are kind of shitty on PS2 compared to PS1, sadly. You're stuck with Nippon Ichi stuff and some mostly mediocre games like Dynasty Warrior Tactics. Front Mission 4 is alright, 5 is pretty good.

Tales of Phantasia. First on SFC, but I switched to the PS1 version after getting to the scene on a boat about tigers. I'm liking it a lot more than FFIII on SNES that i'm not emulating though. Since they both came out at around the same time, why do people think that Final Fantasy is better than Tales?

Playing Digital Devil Saga pretty good so far

I am playing ff12 on pcsx2, hardware mode, double resolution (its a laptop), apart from occasional slowdown during cutscenes/dialogue it runs perfect.

Persona 3, afterwards will be 4. Prepping myself for 5 because I've never played anything in the series, and if I played 5 first I'd do nothing but compare it to the previous games, which would subtract from my entertainment from it.

I get a lot of slowdown at certain parts in ace combat.
