Its not the most impressive because the whole game is a gorefest, but some of the glory kills in Doom 4 are abolutely brutal even if they are jsut up for a few seconds

>>
>>377616572
>>377617107
I dunno, it's pretty gruesome, but your head is gone and you're dead with that one. It's just someone else controlling your corpse. The headcrabs from HL2 heavily imply that you're still aware of and feel what is happening after you're taken over.
>>

Is that Todd Howard with a frown on the right?
>>
>>377617153

>>
>>377617012
Huh? It's not a bad karma ending. It's the bloody mess ending. You get it no matter what if you choose the bloody mess trait. The only alternative ending scene is the one where the vault dweller gets exiled and doesn't shoot him.
>>

>>
>>377612491
Are you talking about the shit animu you got the webm from or did this actually happen in a game?
>>
>>377617123
Its coming from a fascination with disgust originally through the horror genre.
Seeing something really gross and/or bloody is interesting because you dont see it every day and this interest can evolve into fascination and obsession to the point where you are actually excited to see something gory.
In games its often also about power, and the ability to show off this power through killing something in the most violent way. It is satisfying to see bad monsters that gave you trouble getting ripped to shreds.

Just listen to the audience reaction to the kills in Doom.

Holy shit I knew I wasn't insane. I remember getting this ending the first time I played the game, but I never saw it again or saw anyone mention it ever. I never knew it was tied to bloody mess perk.

Also on my first playthrough I didn't even know you could aim at body parts because I took that shitty perk
>>

Headcrabs are cute
>>
>>377617573

Comic book. Ironically, I preferred the volume where that happens (Volume 2) over the first one written by Garth Ennis.

The entire idea is deliberately edgy and shallow, but you can appreciate it more if you're already familiar with Ennis' work. There's this really half-hearted attempt at trying to explore human morality and conscience once you get past the rape and gore.

"That’s… that’s just horrible. This is definitely video games as art. I don’t think I’ve had this much of an emotional reaction to any made thing before. I don’t think I’ve ever felt this particular way before.

I almost want to hate you for doing this to me, but I did this myself, which I suppose is the point of video games a a medium. To see the content, you have to be an active participant in it, which is something a creator can really take advantage of.

Of course, everything has a stronger emotional impact when you’re tired and hungry and it’s dark. I’ll check this out again in the morning. Ugh, or not. The thought of opening that file again makes me cringe."

People always post Bionic Commando for being a rare example of violence slipping through the cracks on the NES, but the one that always stands out to me is the final boss of Startropics screaming, spasming and vomiting for like a solid five seconds when you kill him. well yeah, I did a report on the BTK for training on investigations and when its real life, its pretty fucked up especially considering how something that was unsolvable back then would be easy today

>DNA profiling not yet a thing

>meanwhile semen all over the site

>as soon as they could do a sample, they took it from his daughter for comparison since he was a prime suspect at this point

>got him to send evidence on a floppy (lol) after telling him they couldn't trace it

>they traced it and arrested him

I mean, video games don't replace other mediums but I think its a very different expierence in fiction to read about either the main character or another person doing some horrific shit but its another to be the one doing that shit, essentially, of your own volition.

Its why I liked spec ops: the line for the WP scene. While it was forced, to me a lot of the game was about how both you and the MC were limited to that option and just "walking away" wasn't a real option. Walker's guilty conscious and realization hes in over his head leads to a mental break where he can't process what he just did and the slow realization that nothing he is doing is actually helping starts to weigh on him more and more.

I get why people felt like the game forced you to do something bad and lambasted you for it, but I just got the feeling that wasn't the true intention. Instead its Walker's mind trying to process it.

but hey its just a theory. a game theory

This sounds reasonable, in a way.

It's like how when you go to watch a magic show and the magician saws his lovely assistant in half and shows her separated in two.

There's pleasure in knowing you're watching something bad happen but not really.

It's mostly about the complete loss of power with disasters. Their life is gone in the blink of an eye, often through no fault of their own. One of the big things I like about guro is the idea that this person's life is meaningless aside from the pleasure given to the person killing them. Disasters are like that, but taken even further since no one is getting any pleasure from it - their life was just that meaningless. In real life, I'm strictly a dom, though I do erp as females and subs from time to time.

If I'm totally honest Starless is the worst thing I've played through.
I tried my best to run away as fast as possible

My favorite is probably the one where you blow a whole you can see through in Purlin's chest. The raptors also had some pretty gory kills, you can completely dismember them to just a torso with explosives.

Also you must realize that Chernobyl's reactors, like most reactors, can release the amount of radiation 400 times or more than the two nukes dropped on H&N. So it would most definitely take over several thousand years before it remotely becomes safe.

Sometimes jumpscares are more hilarious than scary or sad. When my friends and I saw the descent the protagonist gets in a car crash, and https://youtu.be/OuoVmvNxE8I?t=30s 1 or 2 times afterwards she'll wake up from a nightmare of just, say, walking outside of her house in the middle of the night and then suddenly IMPALED BY PIPES.

And it just cracked us up because we were expecting any time there was a bit of silence or tension you'd just have fucking pipes fly out of nowhere and impale her.

>The proposed use for nuclear-powered ramjets would be to power a cruise missile, called SLAM, for Supersonic Low Altitude Missile. In order to reach ramjet speed, it would be launched from the ground by a cluster of conventional rocket boosters. Once it reached cruising altitude and was far away from populated areas, the nuclear reactor would be made critical. Since nuclear power gave it almost unlimited range, the missile could cruise in circles over the ocean until ordered "down to the deck" for its supersonic dash to targets in the Soviet Union. The SLAM as proposed would carry a payload of many nuclear weapons to be dropped on multiple targets, making the cruise missile into an unmanned bomber. After delivering all its warheads, the missile could then spend weeks flying over populated areas at low altitudes, causing tremendous ground damage with its shock wave. When it finally lost enough power to fly, and crash-landed, the engine would have a good chance of spewing deadly radiation for months to come.
I'm retarded and forgot it was SLAM not pluto

Uhh depends on the level of spoilers you'd want. Let's assume lots.

It's a VN about humanity being invaded by and very gradually losing to a swarm of alien bugs. The bugs are basically super ants, but pretty heavy on the horror elements, so they'll actively chase down and murder/eat humans with swarm tactics. The protagonist fucked up, was disheartened, and needed wise words from the mentor character. That universe being kind of shit, a straggler from the attackers creeped in and killed her instead. They should have been on guard still, but protag had to have his emotional breakdown and make things worse.

I'm not, well, I don't think I'd be as good as your regular toys, and, uhm, I'm far below what you deserve, but, if you ever wanted to, uh. If you ever wanted to take out your frustration on someone-I, I mean, something, I'm here to be used!

It's peculiar to me that all these irl killers are just completely fucked in the head and kill for some weird fetishy stuff almost all the time. Are there any real life killers that have the Hannibal Lecter kinda playing God motive? I know there's a few that do it because voices told them too instead of the fetishy shit but there isn't any who do it just because they can. Closest I can think of is Zodiac, especially since his taunting the police and shit. Jack the Ripper might be a typical THE VOICES kinda killer but if anyone hasn't actually looked into him, it's definitely interesting. It seems like a miracle he was never caught given how much evidence and shit they had against certain suspects, and the fact he kept writing letters to the police too.

>I picked up four old potato sacks and gathered a pile of stones. Then I cut him up. I had a grip with me. I put his nose, ears and a few slices of his belly in the grip. Then I cut him thru the middle of his body. Just below his belly button. Then thru his legs about 2 in. below his behind. I put this in my grip with a lot of paper. I cut off the head – feet – arms – hands and the legs below the knee. This I put in sacks weighed with stones, tied the ends and threw them into the pools of slimy water you will see all along the road going to North Beach. Water is 3 to 4 ft. deep. They sank at once. I came home with my meat. I had the front of his body I liked best. His monkey and pee wees and a nice little fat behind to roast in the oven and eat. I made a stew out of his ears – nose – pieces of his face and belly. I put onions, carrots, turnips, celery, salt and pepper. It was good. Then I split the cheeks of his behind open, cut off his monkey and pee wees and washed them first. I put strips of bacon on each cheek of his behind and put in the oven. Then I picked 4 onions and when meat had roasted about 1/4 hr., I poured about a pint of water over it for gravy and put in the onions. At frequent intervals I basted his behind with a wooden spoon. So the meat would be nice and juicy. In about 2 hr., it was nice and brown, cooked thru. I never ate any roast turkey that tasted half as good as his sweet fat little behind did. I ate every bit of the meat in about four days. His little monkey was as sweet as a nut, but his pee-wees I could not chew. Threw them in the toilet.

At a meeting with reporters after the execution, Fish's lawyer James Dempsey revealed that he was in possession of his client's "final statement". This amounted to several pages of hand-written notes that Fish apparently penned in the hours just prior to his death. When pressed by the assembled journalists to reveal the document's contents, Dempsey refused, stating, "I will never show it to anyone. It was the most filthy string of obscenities that I have ever read."
