I've played through the main game + all side quests 4 times. And both DLC + all side quests 3 times. I'm guessing I have around 800 hours in the game, I don't know how to check on ps4.

It's pretty alright but it was ruined by the open world meme. It's like if you make a really good burger but then you make people eat 10 in a row. Even if the burger is good, that wouldn't be a pleasant experience.

I played it twice already, once vanilla, once modded and with DLC and now I'm on my third playthrough where I play through the whole trilogy with a single save game carried over. It's too bad this series doesn't handle carry-over save games very well, they hardly change a thing but the little nods to past decisions I made does give me small moments of enjoyment. Except BOTW has worse gameplay than the Witcher 3, with less variety, much worse quest design, worse music, worse VA work, worse reward system, worse customization, pretty much everything is worse except the overall exploration. But exploration is really all BOTW really does well, however, 90% of the time you are just holding forward to get between the same set pieces that offer the same reward.

And I used the Wiedzmin Lighting Mod on the Nexus for the lighting and weather enhancements. They really make the game look a lot better. Base lighting in the game isn't as rich as they could have made it since these mods merely alter the weather and time of day values and don't use Reshade/SweetFX at all.

Morrowind is up there for sure and I haven't played Gothic 2 so can't really comment about that.

In my opinion, the only place tw3 doesn't quite pull through is the visual design that guides the player during quests and exploration, and the devs clearly know this because they felt the need to add witcher vision to compensate their lack of polish in that area.
Hunts are the worst offender because you just end up having your witcher vision on all the time and just follow where it leads without much thought.

I'll keep the game that I think does this way better than tw3 to myself because it's not really in the same genre as tw3 and I don't want all the shitposting that comes with it.

I enjoyed the first game, but I just can't stomach the 2nd game. The combat system changes were not appealing to me, and I disliked the shift in story telling direction where Geralt's story was interrupted with short interludes as playing as other characters. Geralt is a shit protagonist, the story and worldbuilding is bland, the author of the books is a cunt, the ancillary characters only range from 'edgy' to 'trash waifu', the combat is subpar, I could go on and on. The bottom line is that the Witcher games are definitively bad by any metric, they're simply passable considering the other AAA garbage being shoveled out. In context of its surrounding releases, Witcher 2 was better than 3.
