because there have been countless cycles of continuing the age of fire. I guess a fire keeper is only good for one use then someone else takes their place in the shrine and they either go there to die or someone kills them

I remember going that long way to her just to level up occasionaley, so her efforts were not for naught. DS3 characters and their questline are awesome.
Also, you can corrupt her with dark miracles, and if you wear Eigon's gauntlets she will recognise you as him and will ask you to kill her. It was pretty gut wrenching. One of the best questlines of Dark Souls trilogy. And fucking idiots say that DS3 is bland and has no unique features.

That's another thing that made DS3 great. New characters with universally comprehensible motivations for what they do and say. Greibro in particular.

Greirat is one of my favorite characters, I really love the voice acting, the subtle undertones of his phrases are masterful.

And I love how Patches can save Greirat while pretending to be an onion bro, plus he automatically aggroes if you aggro Greirat. They're really a friends.
