oh yeah i remember this shit. but i think that's a better example of "surprise final boss" because there wasn't really a main villain in colosseum, rather the entirety of cypher had no frontman until the very end.

there were several villains, each with their own story arcs but the final boss had only one role and it was to give you the bait and switch.
