Future is better but I enjoyed the Arcade-y challenge of the original.

future is the superior game but JSR is all we have that's readily accessible unless you have an xbox HUEG still

I guess Sega hadn't considered JSRF to be retro enough for an HD port. JSR Dreamcast at the time naturally was a higher priority.

Nowadays the original can be played on anything, and Future has become the less accessible game.

Acceptable too. PCSX2 has been getting better over the past couple of years. I mean, I have a hacked Xbox Hueg, but I know a lot of people refuse to get one despite being easily hackable. Also, being able to increase the resolution of games would be fantastic

JSR is the game I like more but JSRF is a better game

JSRF tried to change up the style in little ways and none of it was as good, but is still mostly the same. I think the level system works better cause as an open world there isn't much to do, but I like not having a timer and JSRF controls better.

There's a 720p widescreen hack for JSRF. It's slow as hell and the HUD elements are fucked up but it's interesting to see.

Sega at the time was looking for games in their Saturn/Dreamcast catalog to make HD versions of. Their Xbox stuff went without consideration.
