So, this comes out this week. I'm still shocked we're actually getting this and the sequel, and physically on Vita no less. Anyone else ordered it?I use Linux as my daily driver, does anyone know how well the first game runs under WINE? The last update on WineHQ is from nearly a decade ago, so I'm betting it probably runs a bit better now, but I'm too lazy to check. On a side note, I heard that the anime adaptation for the first game is actually good, so should that be enough of a refresher before starting this one?

What is this game? I don't know shit about it but if it's good I'm willing to look into it

It's a VN/SRPG hybrid. Same developers that did Dungeon Travelers, which a lot of anons seemed to really like.
The story is the major draw, and this is the second game. You can watch the anime adaptation for the first one (or pirate the PC fan-translation) first to see if you'd be interested in this.
I pre-ordered it. This is bound to have a massive price drop, maybe even by the time Amazon Prime Day rolls around.

It'll follow the rule of niche vidya; price drop, sold out, price hike past MSRP.
Case in point; here's what I paid for a new copy of Solatorobo years ago...

...and here's a new copy now. Used isn't under $90, either.

I kind of wanted to get into it but then I found out it's a direct sequel and not a reimagining of the first game which frankly I have no intention of playing.
The ratio of vn to srpg elements is also a no-go since, by principle, I don't pay for softcore eroge.
I'm interested in it but I really don't think VNs are for me and I'm worried there's not enough combat to keep my attention.

First of all what is this?
Second, why is it rated M?

First; read the thread. Second, the first game (which was on PC) was an eroge.

Steins;gate CE's don't go for much more than they did at release, even unopened, and that game's even bigger than Utawarerumono, especially in the West. Solatorobo has the distinction of a fairly small print run coupled with a fan base that could only grow in size AND furries in general who are constantly discovering its existence.
>>377586907Utawarerumono could be considered furry, or at least anthro.

Just watch the 2006 anime adaptation of the first game. It's really good.
