Both have their good and bad points, Law grants safety and certainty at the expense of freedom and happiness, Chaos grants freedom and happiness but with no known certainty of the next day.

Final's combat is objectivity better. Don't know why your even shitposting about this. Being able to choose your skills, buffs and debuffs being not broken, automatically makes it superior to Nocturne. Apocalypse mode requiring buffs for fodder enemies and use of status ailments make it much harder. Besides the plot in Final is also better because the characters aren't 1 dimensional being who existed to being reason advocates that go completely 180.

For one, when I played Nocturne I had no idea what his weakness was and didn't remember talking to the NPC who said he had only one so I thought initially he was invincible and I'd have to use almighty. And even when I applied my debuffs he would still bust out his beast eye combo. War Cry just meant he reused Beast Eye in the same turn to get up to +4 in magic before one shotting me with megidolaon.

It's just a really badly designed fight that's built on too much RNG and is too unforgiving to the player in terms of weaknesses and is hard for all the wrong reasons. Like, Masakado in 4 is pretty tough even after you figure out you have to use Pierce, and Matador can still fuck you up even if you get all your buffs, but Mot just falls apart once you realize the stupid bullshit and is just way too difficult beforehand. One of the worst bosses in any RPG or probably game period.

Pretty for the at least humanly possible to travel area tokyo is always written as one of the place to survive in some way somehow. Meaning that shit being nuked around the world or whatever Tokyo being a palace with some sort of infrastructure still standing means that many just congregate there since its got some usable unblasted to all hell shit there.
So Tokyo always somewhat somehow survives the initial demon happening bullshit. So people go and gather there which is then why it becomes a hotspot for shit happening. and since demons and angels need humans to fuck with for whatever reason means that it becomes the place for shit happening.

Which is not to say that other places and shit didn't survive and other shit is going around the world at the same time. Just that a staple of the main SMT series being that it takes place in tokyo. Which also why even though Strange journey was planned as numbered mainline entry it then became a spin off. Tokyo survieing some shit and become i big ole hot spot for nerds to congregate which then draws demons and angels to fuck with it all is a mainstay they stick with due mostly to the country the game is made in.

I feel you, but vit at least did something unique, dex basically only affects gun autos and physical abilities, while they for some ungodly reason made it have higher phys skill scaling than str in at least SMT4, so its just arbitrary in the end, just make strength affect both autos and physical skill scaling, while keeping vit since it does something else entirely.

the game is really jarring with its current system, its like final fantasy tactics where you don't have actual defense, you just get HP from your armor, except that you get almost non existent HP while enemies can knock off 70% of your hp with one attack, and can press turn your ass and hit you 8 times a turn, the game is unironically a shitfest without defense.

I get the strategy of picking armor based on resists instead of the marginal HP, but then you run into bosses that will almighty spam you if you resist anything, so its eventually fucking moot, at least give a stat that lets you get some survival, instead of an arbitrary second physical stat
