Have you ever bought a game's soundtrack?
One.
Final Fantasy X's.
Secret of Mana
Dustforce
FTL faster than light
Dark souls 3 came with one. I thought it was weird that anyone would want to just listen to video game music
I bought the Wonderful 101 soundtrack.

FF VII VIII IX and X, smash bros... I feel like there were more. Even bough the piano sheet music for FF. So worth.
for what purpose??
>play game
>wow nice music
>game\bin\resources\audio
>extract files
>get all the music instead of wasting money away on a shitty sampler disc or even worse a disc that doesn't have your favorite track on it
Plenty.
Most recently, I got was Crypt of the Necrodancer's OST on vinyl.

Who is this soon to be mass murderer?
I want to buy the bayo soundtrack but I heard it doesn't have fly me to the moon on it

to support the artist
I wanted to buy Persona 4 Arena's, but it wasn't convenient.

I bought the Mario Galaxy, Shadow of the Colossus, Guilty Gear X Heavy Rock, and Street Fighter Alpha 2. After ripping them and putting them on my phone I decided to never buy physical again.

In 2013 I bought Piano Collections Kingdom Hearts and in 2015 I bought the 10th anniversary fan selection.
I have more OSTs, but those are CDs that came for free in the limited editions of some games.

I just listen to them on YouTube mostly. Grooveshark was amazing for the obscure stuff RIP.
The only game album I can think of actually purchasing was some large game music bundle where I set all the proceeds to go directly to Hitoshi Sakimoto
Only these two.

the artist was already paid by the developer/publisher to make music who also likely owns it all as part of the IP anyways. you're throwing money in the wrong direction. it's not like these people are busking in the subway.
You actually look like some japanese vidya music composer from the 80's.
The only one I bought is FF1+2, was thinking of starting a collection back then so I didn't really pick a favorite. It's not bad though.
got sonic adventure 2 ost, and three recopilation discs (one of sonic music, another for ocarina of time music and FFVII music) in a shop, in 2007
like three or four years later i realized the SA2 one was a bootleg, i was mad until i saw the prices of the real one in amazon at the time.
it wouldn't surprise me if the other discs i bought out of them are fake too

the more money a composer makes a company the more valueable he or she is to that company, the more likely a company will be to hire that composer again.
so... you're pretty much entirely wrong.

I considered doing it for FF Tactics and Symphony of the Night way back in the day. I remember gaming magazines used to have this big advertisement for importing soundtracks, the problem was every one of them went for like 30/40 dollars in the mid nineties so another game always took precedent over buying a soundtrack. Kids today with the hair and the clothes don't know how good they have it as far as importing and shipping rates go.

Only OST I have too, but it's the orginal from the game's launch
Yeah, I do it a lot actually.
