From what I remember Aeka is pretty much about to commit suicide at the start and you as the MC have the choice of sticking with her for a bit so she doesn't which evolves into that extremely unhealthy relationship you have before she eventually starts overcoming some of her trauma. If you ignore her at the start and don't help her she just disappears completely so she probably did indeed kill herself on the other routes.
