From what people have shown off so far, there's:

>A smol breadbug that's a super tiny loaf of bread
>a big purple eel looking thing
>a buncha different types of bugs that have similar looking heads to the swooping snitchbug
I can't remember anything else, but if you go on YouTube there's a bunch of videos of small snippets of gameplay with new enemies in them

For those they do not recognize it,it was a falling bulborbs fantasy in one of the shorts.

I think it's great. Longer than Pikmin 1, but shorter than Pikmin 2. No caves, but larger levels. Pikmin types are a lot more balanced this time around and it's got some some nice replayability from the extra modes. Plus the visuals are fucking gorgeous.

Has anyone had a Rock Pikmin start grabbing onto enemies and be unable to be whistled? I literally just beat the final boss of Pikmin 3, and I had a Rock Pikmin who went fucking berserk.
I looked it up, and it seems to be documented as "Invicible Pikmin", but there's nothing saying Rock Pikmin go fucking wild.

I wonder why that is, I get Purples were over powered but Pikmin 3's challenge mode nerfed them into only being useful for heavy things which could work out if the level design & item placement is done right. All I can think of is because there aren't caves anymore and the Whites & Purples seem to still not have a normal onion.

I imagine it being that they aren't the main cast. I wouldn't be surprised if Rock and Flying Pikmin were tossed to the side for Pikmin 4's main story.
They also provide better variety than Purple and White, Rock Pikmin needing more active attention to use, while Flying Pikmin can do a whole bunch with their wings.

They're still going with the mono-onion? I wouldn't even dislike it that much if it looked more like a natural entity, like the old onions, and not an artificial spaceship with rocket engines.

what if pikmin 4 introduced a gene splicing mechanic, if you were able to capture a monster alive into your ship, you could reasearch beneficial attributes for your pikmin or create strains of parasitic pikmin to control that creature with some restrictions to keep the game from becoming a cakewalk with certain monsters, or just make the game harder instead of removing the full potential of fun of controlling something like a gatling groink

Yeah, I'm not exactly happy with it either. Pikmin 3's designs were all stellar. Some of them were great, including the pikmin themselves, but some of the enemies and the onion weren't winners.
Hopefully in Pikmin 4 they get a better fuse between the original onions and the new onion.

There's a shit ton that went unused or got scraped, that's what nintendo does to their games if they haven't touched them for a decade or so. At one point they even scraped a bad ending for pikmin 2 and that didn't even see the light of day until recent.
