Even though the writing is godlike, the gameplay and general execution of the game felt downright cancerous.
What are some other games for fans of the World of Darkness TTRPGs like me ?

wat
>>377568194
I somewhat agree, it felt like the beta version of the GTA formula but with a complex RPG story.
>>377568194
uh, the gameplay's not perfect by any stretch, but it's a nice mix of stealth, action, and npc interaction
>>377570508
That's only true for the first half of the game, then it all goes brainless shooter.
Sucks to be you if you took something like a ventrue or toreador up to this point
>>377568194
KOTOR 2.desu totally jelly of people that get to play tabletop games. Even a shitty session with friends is better than any video game
>>377568194
>the gameplay and general execution of the game felt downright cancerous.
Stealth is broken but one single mistake ruins stealth missions or at least their bonuses. Micromanaging your dexterity by changing clothes and blood buff helps with stealth. Obfuscate is also encouraged. Chain stealth kills without being noticed by a soul is satisfying and easy.
Melee weapons and unarmed combat are a bit off at times, but they are more than manageable.
Shitty firearms are shitty as advertised, but the endgame weapons are powerful and accurate as long as you invest in the skill and peripheral disciplines like celerity. Maybe "cancerous" for a pure action game but good in an RPG.
Sounds like you need a prescription ofgit gud

>Even a shitty session with friends is better than any video game
eh not really even when "that guy" isn't present a tabletop game can be as lame, formulaic and unimaginative as any bad video game. My experience with them is people get really excited at the start and after character creation they're spent on enthusiasm and imagination. The game quickly ends after the first scenario/quest and you cant get anyone to do a follow up or continue.

>Melee weapons and unarmed combat are a bit off at times, but they are more than manageable.
I really enjoyed the melee, slamming people around is one of my favorite things about the game
>>377571170
I guess it's different with my friends then. I guarantee that playing with total randoms will have 'that guy' moments but fortunately I was never exposed
I started VTMB yesterday for the first time, I like it so far.I saved Therese.
>>377568194
What are you looking for? Similar writing? Then I second KotOR 2, and also Arcanum ( make sure to use unofficial patch for this like how gotta do for VTMB.) A game that has gameplay like VTMB but is actually good on the gameplay end? The original Deus Ex, no question about it; far more intricate and less linear in the approaches a player can take towards a particular goal.

If you did do what your spoiler tag says:have 4 persuasion by then and you can save BOTH which leads to even higher xp gainDon't read my spoiler tag (seriously) if you are only pretending to play the game.
>>377572680
I tried to do exactly what your spoiler said but I didn't have enough points into persuasion. Guess I'll do that my next run.
I guess you could play the Hunter: The Reckoning games, but those are more like Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance clones than proper WRPGs.
>>377568194
The gameplay is great what the fuck are you talking about. It's like Deus Ex with vampires.

>"Little" Duckling

Stop. Use a word that actually means what you want instead of a stupid buzzword.
Why is there not any other game that does what this does? This is basically a TES style game (I don't know any better thing to call it) but with a vampire setting in the real world. Not hard to do at all. There are lots of other games like it so why has nobody done this kind again? I know there's that new vampire game being developed but it's clearly not nearly as good.
>>377572680
Holy crap you save them both. Well shit, here goes another playthrough.
>>377574256
You know, I usually like to enjoy rule34 within the context of its universe, so with VTMB it's all this weird tease for me because if I think about the situation on display there's no technical pleasure being received from it at all. That's why even the character on display in that picture says that she's bored after you get it in with her, and your own player character's bored as well since sexual intercourse does nothing for vampires.
>>377574953
>This is basically a TES style game
Deus Ex style game is far more fitting even if it doesn't have DE's depth.
>I know there's that new vampire game being developed but it's clearly not nearly as good.
Which one? If you're talking about that isometric 'Diablo meets VTMB' one, it's been out, and yeah it didn't meet expectations. But the hypothetical one Paradox/former Obsidian guys are on, there may be some hope since it seems like this game is where the budget that may have gone towards finishing Tyranny went to.
>>377575312
Vampyr. It's an action game where you play as a vampire. You can do stuff like charm people and all that shit but it's not trying to be as open as Masquerade. I just want a game where I can properly design my vampire and explore a big world of vampire shit. Masquerade is pretty good for it but it's pretty dated and does some stuff I don't like. With the limitless potential of today's games a new one could be great.
>>377575043
Well,"save" is a generous word. She remains batshit crazy and some would argue even crazier. Then again, is there really saving an undead parasite in the first place? Sad way to be.
>>377575556
Huh, never heard of this one. Checked it out, kinda excited about it going into the self-horror aspects of vampiric condition, not as excited about how rough it seems otherwise.
>>377576715
How did you beat it without doing that one thing? Also they are only superior to bottom tier vampires. Mid to top tier vampires are stronger.
>>377577390
plus patch
>>377570623
>Sucks to be you if you took something like a ventrue or toreador up to this point
The game tells you, multiple times, not to invest everything into non-combat stats.
>>377574953
>This is basically a TES style game
Absolutely not. It's more of a Fallout style game with lots of cues from Deus Ex.
>>377574256
source? I absolutely need more
>>377579031
I would call Fallout a TES style game or TES a Fallout style game.
>>377579960

>>377571493

>>377581885
Is there a technical term for a cRPG where the combat is more combatty and less D&D dice rolling?
>>377582168
Oh, so that's what you mean. Not that I know of, not really.
>>377570847
online tabletops can be great to fucking disgusting, every time I round up a group it's a bunch of loud americans from the south.
>>377575312

could be a human, both Mercurio and Therese mention that Jeanette often has sex with kine.
>>377577717
I did toreador first time and had no issue, using celerity for combat. I also used melee the entire game, which did fuck me over on the bat boss, but it wasn't too bad.
