CEO of CDPR said months ago that they would be stupid not to do another Witcher game.

We know that CDPR planed to release two AAA games before 2021 (now more likely 2022-3), and that one of them is Cyberpunk 2077.

The other project hasn't been revealed, but the speculation is that it would be something historical to promote Polish history. So basically Hussars.

If this is true and TW4 has to wait until after that, we are looking at 2026 at the earliest. If their AAA project after Cyberpunk is actually TW4 though, we could see something released as early as 2022.

Not really sure what they would do though: Geralt sequel can be ruled out and I think Ciri would be a bad idea. Geralt prequel is unlikely as the story following the books would be too linear. Create-your-own Witcher would not make much sense plot-wise. We'll have to wait and see.
