I played on the hardest difficulty and went in at level 11 (recommended level is 14 ) , and because I'm good at RPGs I was already dealing great damage to the enemies

I was using explosives which I had a good skill for and bought in abundance prior.

Nah, It's honestly among the best.

after replaying the dlc's for the first time in years i realized they are all pretty bad. each one has literally 2-3 short quests and it's over.

Honest Hearts is literally the same thing. you arrive go find a map and some other shit, okay you're at the end now.

OK I hit 20, I finished ED-E's (FotA) and Boone's (Repentant) sidequests, and before I get any new followers, I'm going to do some if not all of the DLCs.

Dead Money first, correct? I have Strong Back, which I know lets me carry more shit while in the Sierra Madre. What should I take with me? CAN I take anything with me? I'm planning currently on taking a 44 Magnum and the Armored Jumpsuit as my only belongings. I was going to take the NCR combat armor, but I don't love the thought of getting locked into a DLC questline wearing a NCR disguise.

Also, is there a mod that makes the NCR Ranger Combat Armor non-disguise? I keep having to swap it out because randoms get salty when I have it on.

Hey, I've started Dead Money.

I chased down Dog/God (never heard about him before, and holy shit easily top 3 favorite Fallout characters) and got God to open the cage. Something on the wiki said something about how letting Dog out and putting God away has negative effects on the storyline, like passing the barter checks with Dean.

Can someone give me some more detail here? I want to see what Dog's got to give as a companion but I don't want God to hate me.

If you want the good ending for dog/god then never forcing dog out is important i think. It doesent really matter honestly so you can be an asshole to them all. You probably wont get the good ending anyway since one of the NPCs has a trap skill check that blocks you out of the good ending.

I was playing a build based on Tale of Two Wastelands with Someguy series added in to include a more personal character based plot inbetween the vanilla political regime change missions. By the time i got to Dead Money, my character short of extenuating circumstances or being vastly outnumbered could pretty much win every fire fight so introducing an element that can kill my character outside of brute force made playing the DLC have a bit more tension

OWB is wacky fun the first time through and actually seriously tedious and dull any subsequent times, the same few enemies are copy-paste everywhere,
The best DLC on the other hand Dead Money is the exact opposite, you go at it the first time like you can just sprint through blowing everything up and it sucks because it wants you to slow down and pay attention. When you actually do, playing it at a reasonable pace on very hard hardcore on a relatively low level character, paying attention to every conversation and getting speech and skill checks where you can, it's so fucking good man

With each subsequent playthrough OWB becomes worse
Although the last time I may have dun goofed by checking every location in Big MT. The good part is that I found stuff I hadn't seen before like the Lightwave Dynamics plant and its terminal entries
The bad part is that I probably have nothing left to really enjoy in OWB, except Muggy and the Toaster
DM has become even better every playthrough

Old World Blues was strongly parodying (over-zealously perhaps) 1950's science fiction. A joke here and there might have been overkill (I didn't even remember the penis thing until you focused in on it) but all of the jokes poke fun at how fucking ridiculous that 50s-70s sci-fi was. It ALSO is the only real instance of this style of writing in Fallout New Vegas. If it feels ridiculous and "wacky" that's because it's fucking supposed to, in part due to the overzealous parody of sci-fi and the stark contrast between the rest of the game.

New Vegas is far better than both, but am I the only one who genuinely liked Fallout 3? I think its better than 4 to be honest. It had a better dialogue system, skills, a better weapon pool and slightly more RP elements. Plus DC > downtown Boston.

3 is still an alright game. The setting is really cool and I think it's easy to get lost in the world. I mean I think rivet city is one of the best locations in any of the 3 games. I know it's kind of weird to call a city of like 20 people a "city" but it's a great concept all things considered.

3 is just brought down by it's lack of roleplaying replayability, and honestly once you look a little closer, it's not nearly as fleshed out as new vegas. (IE the outcasts. Cool as fuck armor and the only thing you touch on them with is DLC)

Speaking as someone who never got into the first two games because of a general dislike of CRPGs, 3 is definitely better than 4 and honestly not a bad game. Role playing and quests are limited due to typical Bethesda shit but the actual game is still pretty decent. The only "good" thing about Fallout 4 is the gunplay and it's only a step up in terms of previous Fallouts, not good gunplay in general.

So I'm playing with Jsawyer Ultimate Edition and I'm going to play the DLC for the first time. Are the vanilla recommended levels for the DLC still accurate for JSU?
