what about them?

Random encounters are shit in anything but pokemon
That literally killed FireRed for me fucking zubats
Random encounters aren't bad, it's high encounter rates that are fucking disgusting. Worse yet in games where each battle has to go through intro animations and long victory screens.

Random encounters aren't the problem, it's the turn based combat that is the real problem. I wouldn't mind random encounters if they were actually fun to play through.
This is why the praise for Chrono Trigger feels like bullshit to me. They are not technically "random" because you can see them, but the same, fucking boring turn based combat system is still there.

Pokemon is shit, but not because random encounters.

Your taste is shit, but not because of autism.

Having a problem with either means you have no taste. Active battle systems ruined RPGs.

CT isn't turn based

While I don't disagree, back in the day that was partially used to disguise loading. Even though we have emulators on hardware 1000s of times more powerful, those transitions still exist
Imagine being such an underage and/or casual that you bitch and moan about random encounters. What a pussy

Not OP but it felt perfectly alright when I was kid and had plenty of time. Now as an impatient old man who has little to no free time, every random encounter feels like the universe is trying to fast forward my life one step closer to my ultimate death.

Playing Pokemon past 2006 is autism.

Isn't that the point of video games

Jesus Christ my childhood hit me at once.
