Currently there are premades on Chaos playing Frontlines from Maelstrom and Immortal Flames. They are win-trading and trying to keep down Adders by constantly pestering their base.
They rotate back and forth and always come as complete alliance to the base. One of them is a lala WHM named Yu Len who lures Adders away to keep them busy, something premades love to do.

It's quite obvious these groups are win-trading with each other. If you notice fishy behaviour like this, please report them to SE.

It indicates "Here's a scene where she blatantly panders to people who get off on being made to feel submissive in the most vanilla, nonthreatening way possible".

I mean it's a two-second clip that doesn't even get its own audio separate from the trailer song so I get that they're limited in how diabolical they can make her, but that's enough time to have her actually do something threatening like casual violence. Instead they pretty much defanged her, and ruined that whole angle in about two seconds.

SCH only really became badly designed in HW when it got Indomitability and Emergency Tactics. Without those they'd have to rely on Succor and Whispering Dawn, the former which is terrible at actually healing people instead of just providing barrier and the second taking a while to fully heal people in addition to having an (admittedly small) cooldown.

Now as soon as you're hit by party wide damage SCH can just pop out of cleric stance and pop one(1) indomitability. If that isn't enough to fully heal up then Emergency Tactic + Succor will take care of the rest. Then they can just go right back to cleric stance and continue dpsing.

If they remove indomitability and tweaked WHM to not be terrible then SCH would actually be fine.

Actually SCH is poorly designed because ARR only allowed for 5 job skills and made SCH and SMN share a class, so SCH was limited to 5 skills, whatever could be stuck on a pet, and whatever skills were deemed okay to be usable by a DPS class as well. And one of them had to be wasted on Leeches just to make sure SCH covered its basic role functionality.

That left the class with a huge deficit of healing skills, so the tools they *did* have were just made ultra-powerful to make up for that (see: Crit effects on Adlo, Whispering Dawn in general, the original HP%-based Lustrate, and the most wildly overpowered healing ability in the game, Embrace).

At this point, they don't need nearly as much of a crutch, because they got a really decent healing suite throughout Heavensward, but those skills that were made really powerful remain ultra-powerful despite that they don't really need it anymore.

Right now, Embrace is the biggest problem. SCH will never not be mandatory as long as Embrace exists in its current form - and it's so powerful that there's no realistic way to pull that "Oh just buff everybody, never nerf anything" shit with it, either.

Regen is 150 potency every 3 seconds. Once a minute, with Divine Seal, you can boost it up to 195.

Embrace is 300 fairy potency, which translates to the equivalent of 200 Scholar potency. It happens every 3 seconds, at a baseline strength that is slightly higher than a Divine Sealed Regen tick. Once a minute - the same cooldown as Divine Seal - you can use Rouse, and boost that up to an equivalent of 280 potency, must stronger than a WHM can manage with Regen.

In addition to that, Regen has a 21 second duration, meaning that for a WHM to maintain it on a target, they need to spend every 8th or 9th GCD refreshing it. The SCH has to spend zero GCDs maintaining Embrace - meaning that, effectively, SCH has an extra 10~11% as many GCDs as WHM, which they can put toward DPS or extra healing or whatever they want. (AST's HoT only lasts 18 seconds, so they actually lose every 7th or 8th GCD on it, meaning SCH has even more free GCDs than AST).


You have to be either incapable of basic arithmetic, or blinded by class fanboyism, not to see that Embrace is so overpowered that healer balance is impossible while it exists.

If they wanted to uncap Bane the only necessary change wouldn't be for Holy, but to instead buff Gravity with a brief Slow/Heavy effect.

I don't think that Cleric Stance affecting the fairy is a good idea either. I think that Embrace should just get a huge nerf to its baseline healing, but then have A) some ability to *temporarily* buff it back up to its current level, and B) some ability added to SCH itself, either GCD or Aetherflow based, that gives them their own HoT, separate from the fairy.

Something like:

- Embrace lowered from 300 to 75 potency (meaning only about the equivalent of a 50 potency heal from the SCH), as a baseline.
- But when Rouse is active (so 15s every minute), the potency is raised back up to 300 AND given the 40% boost (so it'd be as strong as the current Roused Embrace, but only available 25% of the time)
- Make that tether from the benchmark into a temporary buff (say, 30s on a 90s cooldown) that causes Eos to heal the target by an extra 50 (fairy) potency, or Selene to give the target 5% mitigation.
- Give SCH a native HoT. Either on the GCD or costing a stack of Aetherflow: 21s, 100 potency. And Deployment Tactics can spread it.
