Take a look at Shulk (comes from a series with changing protags) and Cloud (pure promotion for the FF7 remake, not even coming to WiiU/Switch).

You know Atlus is going to milk the crap out of P5 like they did with 4. Why would they not jump at the chance to have Joker in the next Smash? I'm sure Nintendo would be more than okay with it, judging from their past decisions for Smash 4 and Brawl.
