Thanks, I just played a bit of Mighty Gunvolt remembering this.

My question is, why is Gunvolt more fun to play in Mighty Gunvolt and Blaster Master than he is in Azure Striker? His moveset is honestly more interesting with the ability to move at a slower pace and explore areas a bit.

because Azure Striker follows the Mighty No 9 design philosophy where you take a familiar genre, add a gimmick and then build the whole game around that gimmick, and it's just not as fun as playing a more straightforward game where the gimmick is just a side perk.

Mighty Gunvolt was made very quickly and it shows. It is not worth paying for. The level designs are bad, the characters don't feel good to play as, and the bosses are boring.

It's worth playing. It may not be worth paying much for, though. The game is terribly short, probably just over an hour to play the whole thing with all three characters. The different characters make it interesting to play through the same stages.
