Is it wrong that I enjoyed this game to a massive extent? So many exciting bosses, fantastic music, amazing atmosphere. I can only complain about little amount of exploration going on (I was expecting this game to be less linear) and many locations that were similar. Sure, I know the fire is fading and everything is going to shit, but you don't need to throw at us dozens of ruined stone buldings and filthy places like swamps to show that.

It's a great game but I did notice my interest in the series waning with this game.
It just didn't have environments that made me gape in awe the way I did with DS1 and even 2 to a lesser extent

Dark Souls is pretty much the only souls game that I find myself going back to. The freedom and variety really help replayability. 3 was way too linear and the levels were pretty shitty and boring. Although 2 also had a lot of potential variety and freedom, it doesn't matter if the game itself plays like hot dogshit.

I can't be the only one who found 3 the hardest right? I marathoned DeS and DaS before playing 3, and I'm getting my ass whooped. Why is everything so fucking fast? I know it's pretty linear and fucked up a lot of small things, but this game really grew on me with the DLC. I played both of them twice on NG and NG+1 with a shitty co-op build, so I can imagine they'll shine even more with a decent runthrough.

I somehow have 150+ hours in DaS3 already, and I think despite its flaws you can at least acknowledge it as a damn good game that's better than 99% of its contemporaries.

It suffers from sequel syndrome, where any small changes are blasphemy and anything kept the same is lazy, uncreative schlop. I agree that the game relies on throwbacks to previous ones, especially DaS1 too often, and that some of the changes to things like poise and the way covenants worked at launch were a miss, but it's still a pretty damn good game.
