never played the game, whats this cataclysm?
Is the overall campaign about this cataclysm arriving in the galaxy or something?
>>377541975
No, it's a 4x game. The event is a random tropical planet where you find crashlanded Horatio that can join one of your planets
>>377542067
oh, So you just tell em there is a cataclysm coming? even though there is none
>>377541570
The only good cone head is a dead one.

>>377541464
How is the game? It came out a little earlier than I expected. I thought they would take more time with it. Whats different from the first one? Most importantlyis it good?
Is there a torrent for this?
>>377541570
I can't complete that fucking quest.
Those coneheads are orbiting my system and I don't know how to add them to my population.
>>377542786
It's quite fun.
>>377542901
yes
>>377542906
You have to have 3 population spots open, when I did it they inhabited my homeworld
>>377541464
Shame on you, OP, for not linking to the previous bread.

>>377542786
It's an improvement over ES1 in most areas, it's more fun than stellaris at release.
Both of those are low bars however, so no guarantee you'd like this game.
>>377542786
they integrated in the best elements of endless legend, and added manpower and resource mechanic to make the late game fleet production feel less bloated- and politics and population management to make the midgame feel less tedious. Basically, the thinking mans ES1.
>>377543294
>>377543072
I moved them to a different system and it worked.
I don't get it, the other system had almost all pop spots open. Shit's bugged.
>>377543294
>thinkin mans version of ES1
ES1 was fucking stupidly simplified and boring.
>>377542994
Post the torrent please!
>>377545236
sent ;)
What's a good map setting for a beginner?
I just played the tutorial with the empire for a few hours.
>>377542273
The assumption is that something is coming to kill that planet. Not the galaxy.
>>377543418
A lot of shit in this game is buggy, especially quest triggers. The game is fun though.
>>377546119
Basic settings are good to go man. You can bump the difficulty to hard if you feel like it but all else work just fine. I believe it defaults to preventing unique random factions.
How's Endless Space 2 compare to Stellaris?
>>377546453
This... honest curiosity.
>>377546453
>Shitllaris
>Aliens move onto one of my planets as Cravers
It must be some weird fetish thing right?
>>377546453
ES2 is simpler, but far more fun to play. I really wanted stellaris to be good, but it isnt the CK2 in space i was hoping for.
What's an endless space.
Is it good?
Is it similar to civilization?
>>377546583
>>377545236
here you go
>>377546596
Complicated is good
Stellaris isn't complicated, it's tedious.
They replaced gameplay with "please do a lot of irrelevant tasks that could have been automated for you but weren't because doing tedious irrelevant tasks over and over is gameplay :^)"
Being simpler to see/understand/use but maintaining complexity is the wholly grale of game design
>>377546596
Please try to explain why do YOU think its funnier to play than stellaris.
Yeah, I wanna know your opinion(and im not being ironic, I really wanna know it, I know nothing about ES2).
>>377547234
BUGGED.
>>377542186
do you have more?
>>377546453
Stellaris is a sandbox. If you want to role-play any empire you create then you get all the tools for that, and any that are lacking are easily modded into the game.
Endless Space is a proper 4x game. Significant tech choices, factions that aren't just numerically different from each other, multiple victory conditions and in Endless Legend tradition faction quests and storylines to follow.
Oh, and you don't just build a deathblob and ram ram it against your opponent's deathblob to decide who wins a war.
Both are good games. ES2 is just an actual 4x.
>>377546290
Alright, thanks. The ovoid map seemed really small for 8 players.
>>377542186
gorgeous

Thanks
The first game was okay, but bland as shit.
What's new?
>>377549798
Lots of events, more aggressive AI, less systems to take care of, overall just a more lively game.
Should I play this game or Stellaris?

The 1.0 was a genuine miracle patch desu. Spreading out all of the colonization techs instead of keeping them in a single line made the early game so much less painful.

>Cravers on tutorial.
>Reee! You should have killed us when you had the chance.
Haven't seen a single system of theirs and only one ship that looked like it had escaped from a day care center.
Everything is way less threatening in the tutorial.

I couldn't get into Stellaris. It really plays quite different than an Endless game. I've played Endless Space and Endless Legend and it's better to compare them all to Civilization. I'd say that if you like the Civ games and want a little more to keep track of, the Endless series is a good pick. A major mechanic that sets it apart from Civ is customization of units. Endless Legend is the closest to Civilization, but Endless Space is not far removed.
man this game is so pretty
>>377556162
The UI needs some work though. It should be more upfront about your resource production, there's not even that many resources to justify hiding.
hows the combat in this game?
>>377556487
>At least it's not the cards from the first game
>>377556487
Perfect, buy 20 copies.
>>377556303
I imagine this game might be a bit confusing for someone who never played an Amplitude 4x before, I'm glad with the time spent on EL, I feel at home with all these elements.
>>377546583
Vore is a thing that exists yes
Question time.
If I have max population on a system, and no real need for manpower, do I need excess food production there?
My instincts say no, but I'm often wrong.
How does this compare to Mo O2016?
My only gripe about "Endless" was that in Endless Legend you were locked out of a race if you didn't preorder and that there was so many DLC's.
>>377556487
It's even simpler than the first one. Basically you set up your ship formation and let we rip. Once it starts it is auto battle that you can watch or not. Proper fleet setup is more important than lots of guns.
Also they clearly focused a lot on making the battles look good
>>377557715
that pre-order race was just a Vaulter reskin, you missed nothing, most of the DLCs are kinda meh too.
>>377558019
>that pre-order race was just a Vaulter reskin, you missed nothing
wasn't that made available for everyone later on anyways with some expansion pack or patch?
Worst offense of Endless games is that they're not on gog.com
One thing that bounced me off in ES 1 was the military side of things, and it seems to be equally scary in 2.
Game just throws me the "build your own ships" -interface and I have no idea how I should approach it.
