That was the first mission where all he did was accept boats that he needed to stop the Undead. The next mission is where he had almost all his forces (any in game unit that wasn't a blood elf) taken away from him and then commanded to defend against an enormous Force. yeah, yeah i know the standard argument of looking at that mission in a vacuum then criticizing garithos for it. My whole point is that there is context to consider. One is the claim by garithos that the elves are not to be trusted and are incompatible with the alliance ( which is true ). Garithos has long suspected the elves of being untrustworthy, and kael keeps disobeying his orders. Garithos took away his troops, but he also returned (not because of the naga) to reinforce kael.

A recurring problem in warcraft is that there is a lot of miscommunication between the "good" guys. But kael is not to be trusted and it cannot be understated how important that someone who is untrustworthy follow orders exactly. But garithos came back and saw kael disobeying him again. he wasn't basing his decision to kill them on working with the naga against the undead alone. He has a long history against them, but finally they have given him hard evidence. And yes executing them was the right move.
