We'll spend most if not all of our free time min maxing the stats of a fictional character all to draw out a single extra point of damage per second.
Many of us have made careers out of doing just these things: slogging through the grind, all day, the same quests over and over, hundreds of times to the point where we know evety little detail such that some have attained such gamer nirvana that they can literally play these games blindfolded.
Do these people have any idea how many controllers have been smashed, systems over heated, disks and carts destroyed 8n frustration? All to latter be referred to as bragging rights?
These people honestly think this is a battle they can win? They take our media? We're already building a new one without them. They take our devs? Gamers aren't shy about throwing their money else where, or even making the games our selves. They think calling us racist, mysoginistic, rape apologists is going to change us? We've been called worse things by prepubescent 10 year olds with a shitty head set. They picked a fight against a group that's already grown desensitized to their strategies and methods. Who enjoy the battle of attrition they've threatened us with. Who take it as a challange when they tell us we no longer matter. Our obsession with proving we can after being told we can't is so deeply ingrained from years of dealing with big brothers/sisters and friends laughing at how pathetic we used to be that proving you people wrong has become a very real need; a honed reflex.

All reviews are written with hype launch clouding their judgement that they're willing to give a pass to glaring flaws just because it's fresh and new and they've been waiting for it for X months. (Example: Bioshock Infinite - Every Major Site)

Then you have websites that assign people who are shit at certain genres and don't understand a damn thing that they give them a complete pass. (Example: Double Dragon Neon - IGN)

You have people who are outright fucking liars and give full reviews for games they didn't even complete. (Example: Pixel Junk Side Scroller - IGN, Sonic Unleashed - IGN)

And most recently, we've been getting reviewers who give games bad scores purely for political reasons. (Example: Dragon's Crown - Polygon, Bayonetta 2 - Polygon, DmC - Every Major Site)

There's no respect in the vidya journalist world. It's just a bunch of shit tier fans who got a job writing advertisement material. Hell, there was a review for Breath of the Wild that stated the game did nothing new in terms of the open world genre, but that's okay, because it should be reviewed entirely separately from everything else and only be compared specifically to other Zelda games. What other franchise gets a free fucking pass like this?

I mostly stick to user reviews and gameplay videos. I look for what gameplay features the game has to offer and I decide to buy it or not. I also go to an undisclosed forum where we talk about new games coming out.

Controls help draw you in? Basically the same controls as Heavy Rain, which are basically QTEs and which do not do anything at all. You can fail almost all and it doesn't matter.

Both are basically poorly written movies disguised as games. Heavy Rain is better disguised. But this crap had 2 hollywood "actors" in it, one is a dyke, the other one was a respected actor, so must be great.

The Bioshock Infinite worship was the most ridiculous shit imaginable. Fuck man if they had just put the level of detail into PP as they did GZ and actually finish the god damn story than maybe a 10/10 would be justified, but instead we're stuck with both at 7/10 at the most because GZ is $40 for a 4 hour experience without 100%, and PP because unfinished with more cutscene time in the trailers than in the actual game.
