I stopped playing because they completely fucked up slavery.

You can no longer purge single pops, so it's impossible to properly distribute pops on a slaver empires with specialised slave species in a sensible way.

Why are awakened Ascendancies so ridicolously broken?
The blue blob in the top right corner is a former fallen Empire that started with 3 half-finished ringworlds when it awakened. Since then it has been rampaging with a 500K doomstack through the galaxy.Obviously no empire is able to counter that.
How could they possibly pay for such a fleet?
Why is Paradox cheating in their own games?
Fallen Empires already have a tech advantage. Why give them 10 times the naval capacity and fleetsizes on top of that?
>>
>>377521909
it would feel better if Stellaris wasn't garbage
>>
>>377522026
Because that shitty Draconis Combine couldn't capitalize when they had the chance. This is how games are lost.
>>
>>377522026
>Fallen Empires already have a tech advantage
They don't when they awaken
Most of players should already max out technology when it's happens
And you are warned about them them awakening in advance, they act just like endgame crisis, if you don't stop them they nuild their op building on every planet they conquer and build more ships
Lick their ass or declare war right after they decide to awaken

>>
>>377522026
I'm pretty sure they don't cheat any more than all the other AI does. Their ringworlds just have specialised buildings that completely dwarf your own in terms of performance, same with their ships. Which makes sense, considering they are so far advanced and have only focused on a handful of system for hundreds or thousands of years.

stellaris is far more game-y than either stellaris or distant worlds

with it's very defined factions, relatively low opponent limit, narrative focus, default game time limit, etc, it's much more made to be a game rather than a grand-strategy esque simulator like the other two

its a fair bit more limited in what you can do

honestly its a great game, but different

I always preferred DW or Stellaris because of their focus on political and empire management. Tried playing the latest Master of Orion but it felt so... gamey. I just love to immerse myself in a civilization and watch it grow naturally without thinking about time limits or making sure you're playing the optimal build.

>>377524863

That's Matrix Games and Slitherine for you. They make and publish niche games but have a very dedicated audience. They're also the niggers who made that 40k Armageddon game which runs on a two decades old engine and then charge 60 bucks for it or something.

Up until Stellaris came out though there was nothing quite like Distant Worlds. Perhaps Aurora.
>>
Still trying to become a robot, is it worth it or should i start over and go for psionics?
>>
>>377524863

lack of competition and the publisher

it does go on sale, its like 20 dollars on humblebudle store right now
>>
>>377525147

Robots are insanely powerful but come with a flaw; they don't reproduce naturally. This means unless you put every single planet in a sector you're going to have to micromanage your population on every core world.

If you can manage that though or if it's been patched then hell yes, becoming synthetic is fucking awesome. Especially if you've gotten one of those portrait packs from the workshop.
>>
Why play any of the shit ITT when Sins of a Solar Empire exists?
>>
>>377525552

because its not a 4x, its an rts with a few bonus features that dont work competitively

i do play it occasionally with friends
>>
I really like the idea of biological ascension, but it is so inferior to synthetic ascension that it isn't even funny. Synths are OP as shit.

>>377525328
You can give your sectors permission to build robots. Only micro necessary is that you have to manually queue pops for construction on core worlds. Pretty small price to pay for a +20% resource increase across the board on pops and the ridiculous leader buffs.

>>
It's going SHITTY. No one wants to join my damn federation. I have two other empires in it, but the others are xenophobes or they're gay and don't like another member. I'm not set up for war, but how the hell else is my federation going to own 60% of the planets or whatever if I don't take out non-federation fagets? I wish there were more peaceful victories. The space bugs finally invaded my galaxy but everyone is too busy going to war with each other to stand up to the roaches devouring habitable worlds.
Not to mention they still have their borders closed to me (apparently genocide is wrong?) so I can't go through them to fight the xenos threatening to eat the entire galaxy,
I'm just shoring up my defenses and waiting for the swarm to eat my enemies before I pull out the bug spray,
>>

This fag again. Any tips for getting someone outside my federation to like someone within it? One of the empires randomly changed their ways or something and started liking each other, so then I just needed to just give them a few gifts and they came in the federation. How do I get that to happen more? Or did it happen automatically because they were an associate for a while, and associates just start to like the other members?

I wonder what caused that pop up that said an empire changed their beliefs then. Maybe it was just dumb luck for me. Still gonna be hard getting 60% off the planets. But even if I fail, I learned. I only ever beat one game of Civ despite 150 hours.

If you have people you can count on being available to play, then 4X MP games are amazing. You'll never want to go back to comp stomps after that.
If you don't though then it kind of sucks, nothing's worse than getting a good game going on, calling it for the time being, and then never being able to restart it because it's never possible to get everyone back together at the same time.
