Played Nocturne after P5 and everything is just more subtle, you get clues from NPC's to solve puzzles and dungeons but it's up your own initiative while in P5 they make sure you know everything and show it right in your face constantly.

It's kind of understandable, video games are too big for their own good and there are alot of retarded people out there that try to play them. With how easy and conveniant the internet has become it's pointless to put mandatory obscure shit in your games so you try to streamline it so the player can progress smoothly, especially when your game is more about story and character interaction than gameplay.

Slightly more engaging than P5 but still pretty easy. In P5 I can hardly call them puzzles, it feels like you can't fuck them up. Even like the space station puzzle with the alpha and omega buttons felt really railroaded. I was just going forward and pressing buttons and got to the end without a single problem. In Nocturne if I don't at least think a little bit I might get stuck in a loop or something.

I get what you mean, but I disagree. For me the dungeon aspects are half the fun. If Atlus isn't going to bother to try then they could've just gone with the random dungeons again. Coach Rapists dungeon was pretty OK, but I felt that everything after that was sub par.

Yet you can't progress if you don't do any of them. You have an entire dungeons in P5 based around some and if you're gonna do that, atleast make them interesting.

Yeah this isn't even just Persona vs SMT, as SMT IV & Final are significantly more frontloaded and handhold for honestly no good reason.

SMT IV doesn't even reach its hook until nearly 2 hours in once reaching Tokyo.

Compare to Persona 3 or Nocturne where the base premise & set-up is done in 30 minutes or less, and game just starts.

For some reason after Persona 4, every game in the series has been frontloaded to hell with story, which works against the atmosphere that older games like Nocturne were praised for
