Also: Shiki is blonde. In Japanese media and anime in general, blonde is a signpost for European descent. So she is clearly implied to have more European influence, as opposed to Asian nomads, in her design choice.

The main character is designed to be vanilla. They're generally going to be generic and likeable, someone that most people can like but not love. The rest of the cast are generally designed to more appeal to a niche, so that if you like a particular personality, you're going to like that character more than the main one. If the MC is the most liked by most people, it means the developers have done a shitty job of making the rest of the cast likeable.

Or you could not play a game about fanservice, with better written characters.
