Why would I fight against someone who has the best opinion ever?

I've never gotten to properly play Morrowind or Oblivion. Maybe I should just go in without mods.

Those will see you through the vanilla experience but if you want to experience modded morrowind you can't go wrong with Tamriel Rebuilt.

Then again if I were to first beat the vanilla game, going into TR afterwards would feel even more off. I'm not sure which way to choose.

Mate, other than some voice acting at the tutorial and the climax of the game everything is in text. The good thing about it is it gives mod makers much more flexibility to make large mods with lots of characters.
