There's a few different systems, like warning your team about oncoming attacks to get a free skill use even if it was on cooldown, but overall it's actually even less input intensive, due to missing things like soul voice and significant i-frame moves

That sucks, I get that there shit like Overdrive and attacking in a certain order, but in the end it devolves into "use these 5 attacks, then wait a 5 seconds to use them again" and the fact that there's no real way to heal besides one shitty aura and the really low level cap don't help either

definitely. it's actually on steam, but yeah don't waste your money on it. the only good thing i can say about it is that rapid fire abilities were improved a lot compared to 1. there's just so much wrong w/ mua2.

Level cap being low doesn't really matter.
You can still get so much fucking stronger through gear and augments that your growth is in no way stopped at max level.
But you are right, combat in X comes down mostly to preparation and knowledge of the systems, and only a little bit to actual execution.

And your heals are suppose to be via soulvoice, although I found this made combat a hell of a lot more swingy then the traditional method of just giving you more healing abilities.

hang on a sec. people dont come to RPGs for COMBAT, they come for the management and development of characters/parties within the battle system. which is awesome in xenoblade X. its a job based system with a ton of synergistic options. "MMO combat" is because of how it looks with the skills in a line at the bottom of the screen to choose from. building up buffs and then doing a nasty combo is a ton of fun. and targetting certain parts of the enemies adds a nice layer of strategy.

i agree with the voices being drowned out by music sometimes, but the music is really good. and i say that as someone who isnt a fan of lyrics in random places. if its the rap you dont like, then... well.... you are playing in a city thats the remnants of the residents of Los Angeles. what music do you expect to find on the radio in town? not saying i like it, but i accepted it for immersion's sake.

the music out in the world though is pretty great fantastical RPG exploration shit, so not sure what the issue is there

Nah, it's rated just about right. the first Xenoblade Chronicles was a mixed bag of innovative ideas and a frustrating slog through some of the worst side questing ever put into a a JRPG and XBX somehow managed to lean even harder into lame questing and autistic min-maxing while stripping out the first game's generically entertaining story for fan-fiction tier trash.

Shame because the overworld is 10/10 and finally getting a mech to drive and eventually fly around in it is one of the best open-world experiences I've ever had.

I'd hardly call it rap, more like awkward UH UH YEAAAAA repeated. Its especially annoying because you can spend quite the amount of time in the city. Of there were no voices in the game I wouldn't have a problem because the instrumental versions of all the songs especially New los Angeles is pretty decent.

It became a meme for PS3 failure because of its initial motion controls scheme, but with a patch that added proper controls it's a very enjoyable game about riding dragons over huge battlefields, raining fire on soldiers and clawing other dragons.

I'd really like to play Xenoblades, because that world seems like amazing place to explore and there's nothing I liek more than exploring exotic terrains, but I still don't find WiiU to be a reasonable purchase. My total count of games I'd like to play on it is no larger than five.
