The original video is 5 years old. At the time I believe James was busy working on the AVGN movie, so Mike at that point had taken over the channel for him. This along with the "Elmo in Grouchland" review was what he made, fans of the channel heavily disliked the videos for their hilariously awful content and Mike couldn't handle the criticism. He deleted the videos and did some damage control.

It got meme'd whenever AVGN threads popped up. More recently the awfully unfunny let's play channel "OneyPlays" ran the joke into the ground, causing their young fanbase to spam it. Now the video game music parody channel SilvaGunner has been non-stop spamming Mineycrafta remixes. The combination of both has caused a revival of the meme, as much as it's beating a dead horse, I like the thought of Mike Matei seeing these and getting pissed off.
