Tumblr is not a single entity. I don't really get you but plenty of great artists post pictures on their tumblr, including porn. The guy behind HDoom uses tumblr to post his progress. Some anime/manga/videogame fans use tumblr to hoard/post supplementary material for those works, others even translate the stuff. There are probably plenty of other great things there but I don't know that since my interests lie mostly with perverted anime pictures. Sure, I've seen plenty of "stupid tumblr" pictures on 4chan but you actually need to visit those people's tumblr to see them. Noone will forcefeed you pictures of red-nosed negroes or their furfag fantasies unless you actively search for that stuff.

Basically, she was a prototype android unknowingly sent to die in a suicide mission in order to collect data for the next generation of androids (her data was specifically used for 2B, which is why they look almost identical).
