I was the same way at first OP. I spent thirty minutes running around the ruins and then another twenty before heading to the resistance camp for the first time.

I'm glad they made the fishing a lot simpler than in the original nier where it was a fucking pain.

They are like equipment, just use them. You lose your equipped chips if you die and don't retrieve your body so just reload the game.

Get anti chain damage and auto heal and you're basically invulnerable at higher levels. Heal chips in general are broken af
