That's a little how I felt about Demon's Souls. I went in completely blind and finished the first world and False King Allant halfway through the game. I get that he's meant to be the "real" final boss, but it was a bit lame going through everything, getting to Astraea last and then getting a second "non-boss" fight in a row to end the game.
