STEAM BTFO
>>
What is the point of this thread?
>>
I mean it makes sense; Activision owns Blizzard, and Destiny is similar to a lot of Blizzard games, where it's a constant stream of content with a focus on raiding and shit like that.
>>
>>377437754
Destiny 2 is a shit game anyway.
>>
>no dedicated servers

if there wasn't a reason to completely disregard this turd already, now there is.
>>
>>377437754

Well by proxy of the PC game "2" effect it'll still prolly be a good game.
>>
>>377437754
Doesn't the Battlenet already feature Overwatch, which is a similar game?
>>
>>377437861
To act like a child, it seems.
>>
>>377437754
Does anyone find it really weird Battle.net is going to launch a non Blizzard game
>>
What is Steam, anyway?
>>
>>377438062
Ye but Overwatch is made by blizz.
>>
>no dedicated servers

lol they're fucking retarded, its gonna turn into that other ubisoft game that didn't have dedicated servers either

Blizzard's customer service is miles better than valve's.

Why do any of you care? Destiny 1 was in beta for a year after release. The actual game cost $80 on top of your initial $60 and mostly consisted of features the game should have shipped with.

not exactly owning, it was a fusion, not a simple buyout
>>
>>377439262
Not even that guy, but Steam is known for their bad customer support, while blizzard has always done it pretty well. Also this news is only a good thing, Steam needs more competition
>>
>>377439460
Steam responds to support tickets within a month, the fuck is the problem?
>>
>>377439262
it genuinely is, friend of mine bought 5 packs in hearthstone with gold he had and the purchase never went through but the gold was still reducted. he got a reply from customer support within 3 hours and got 3 free packs as well as the 5 he bought.
valve can take weeks on a good day just to ask you something you already explained in your ticket
>>

Aww, blizzard think they're relevant enough to compete with steam, isn't that cute.

Once it became DRM and all of their games require it to run, it's a lot more than Bnet now. It's their entire platform

So they willingly choose the platform which it will sell less on? Is it because it's cheaper? Also I thought Battle.net was just for Blizzard's games.

Yes? How is that even a question. They have their own platform, why give the steam jew his 30% cut.
>>

>Activision owns Blizzard
No it does not.

Neither company owns the other, since both were bought by vivendi.
They then bought themselves free, which was mostly due to blizzards WoW billions, so blizzard is actually the senior partner, although rather unassuming. Activion does not make dosh like blizzard, especially since people are getting sick of CoD.

the opposite is far more likely

the most probable outcome though is that Bungie is be absorbed by Blizzard and Acti-Blizz remains

Blizzard is more profitable, more powerful, more respected, and just all around better than Activision. They would never willingly submit to them when they have all the cards

30 > 15

And this is only ONE Activision series. Not counting everything else they produce directly or sponsor.

There is no doubt Activision is bigger than Blizzard. Blizzard always was a smaller gaming company.

>"We have an interesting relationship with Blizzard, due to all the workings involved with the Activision side of things. Last year, when they released Overwatch, we saw just how well equipped they were for taking on millions of players with very little issue. Putting it plainly, they just have amazing networking and server setups. As we started looking at Destiny 2, we released that we needed that sort of expertise, which we simply don't have. Blizzard will be helping us handling our server setup for all platforms, and the easiest way for that to work is by placing the PC version of Destiny 2 on their own client. don't think anyone dislikes Steam here at Bungie, far from that. They just don't have the robust network in place to handle Destiny 2."

I'm perfectly fine with a competitive ecosystem, but not based in exclusivity. It will end turning PC into a virtual "console scenario".
So far these stores are growing bigger and there're more and more every day, Steam, GoG, Microsoft Store, Origin, Battle.net, Uplay, and the worst of all is that some of these stores have like 1 decent game and you still need to install the stupid client to play that single fucking game.

I once bought Heart of the Swarm CE for full price and it went on sale the next day. Asked for a refund, and while they couldn't give it to me, instead gave me WoW time for the difference in price.

Just sayin.
>>
>>377448328
Are you dumb?
>>
>>377448416
Sorry m8, enjoy it. Gotta bump up the sales somehow and for some reason blizzdrones will gladly buy a game they'll never play for a free hero skin, cardback, icon, and pet.

That's good. Steam is a bloated mess and it takes about an hour to load/download an update. Battlenet is actually fast and downloads take just a few minutes.

It's really nothing like Borderlands

Blizz and Activision are friends
They probably get better profits if they sell it off from Blizz's site and use their client and dont have to worry about Steams 40% or w/e their cut is. Plus they can do stupid cross-promotions with current games that Blizz has like Overwatch and HoTS all from within the same client. Makes complete business sense due to their relationship

Considering the latest news about Steam I think Bungie made the right decision.

You cheeky mother fucker, you're the one that didn't pay after getting pegged last week. You got her to piss on you then ram a 12; dildo up,,, YO OWE ME MONEY
>>
>>377448858
Both are equally fast for me, except Battlenet client tanks fps in Blizzard's own games for some reason, if I keep it running in the background (downloads disabled). I have to alt-tab and close the launcher after I boot a game.
>>
>>377449071
That's just Borderlands.

I literally did not need anymore reason not to buy this warframe clone.

Hello newfriend.
>>
>>377449505
Most likely. Doom could do it, Battlefield could do it, Call of Duty could do it, each way more graphically intensive and more fast-paced.

>WOW MAKES NO SENSE LMAO

Lol

It's not really about money but the annoyment involved.
If you save money it's not hard to buy all three major consoles. You might not because:

- You need to buy peripherals for each console separately
- You need separate online accounts for each console
- Your friend list is not shared between consoles, nor is your shopping cart
- Multiplayer servers are not shared between consoles
- You need to plug in all the three consoles at once or else plug in the console whenever you want to play

And all that just to play exclusives.
I'm ok with having to run a single client, i would prefer to not but i understand it. Now having to setup 4 or 5 clients and having all your data separated is an nuisance.

Wow an ActivisionBlizzard game running on an ActivisionBlizzard service. SHOCKING
>>
>>377446345
not only that
diablo 3 (sold incredibly well despite being a pretty mediocre game)
hearthstone
overwatch
all of these are fucking huge
overwatch alone reported over 25mill players

ActiBlizzard is pure dog shit, but the customer service is top-notch.

>It's their entire platform
Yeah, and just call it Battle.net.
Steam is a whole platform and it's not called the Valve App.
>>
>>377442547
Only if you live in the US. There isn't a single Blizzard game that doesn't have awful EU servers.
>>
How is Steam BTFO? People on PC don't care about console shooters, watch this game don't have half the playerbase of CS GO.
>>
Good, Steam needs competition, it will make them get better.
>>
Haha, holy shit this game does use peer2peer matchmaking. No one's going to play this shit on PC. Shame because Valve is 200% reactionary when it comes to making changes.
>>

I hate it

>its another /v/ hates competition thread
>>
>>377452324
I hate it too. Everything about it isn't catchy and a shitty ploy to get people to say blizzard's name more often.
