MH hit japan like an atomic bomb, pretty much every game has been influenced by it in some way. FF XII suddenly had monster hunting as its biggest subquest, devil may cry 3 decided to make their games even harder since it was working for MH and clearly Demon's Soul took inspiration when designing the weapons.

I don't buy it. Capcom hounds the 3DS, and previously the PSP as a platform because Japan likes to play MH on public transit. Capcom is stupid, but I don't believe for a second that they're stupid enough to skip out on the only current-gen handheld on the market.

The deciding factor on whether we get a Switch port or not is how close to release MH5 is. They need a big bombshell at the end of each fiscal year, and if MH5 is close the A-team doesn't want the B-team eating into their success.
