They released Odin Sphere Leifthrasir last year, give them a break. It's a niche company that puts a lot of effort and love into their games, they won't churn out game after game.

I honestly think that the art style they use is amazing. They obviously admire artists like David's attention to detail when romanticizing the human body. But at the same time the drawing style is distinctively japanese. But rather than using the anime style seriously they make the characters even more romantic by making them disproportionate and sometimes even wacky looking. This creates such a unique style that is an amazing fusion of art from both cultures that comes into an amazing climax in dragons crown where the company takes a generic Fantasy world and breathes a whole new life into it. Dwarfs are now thick brick walls that can fly across the screen. Human fighters are not towering juggernauts. The mages are a fusion of old school and modern styles while keeping a flare of vanity in both the female and male mages.

How can you claim to be liberal be but act as close minded as moms 20 years ago when games first came out?

I wouldn't be worried about that, Vanillaware games usually have a pretty close female/male character ratio. Plus there's a male character in the 2015 trailer who appears to be playable.

Cornelius was great in Odin's Sphere. I thought he was going to be a shy and meek prince but he turned out to be the exact opposite. His playstyle was really fun too once you got the hang of it.

Just because a character is sexy does not mean that's all they are there for. The art style focuses heavily on human anatomy and making it as over exaggerated as possible without breaking form. You can tell they had a lot of fun making the details in amazons muscles and making a prime beautiful but strong female warrior. She is everything an ideal amazon should be tall, strong and beautiful I compare it to David due to the romantic way they view this fantasy world it's as though ideals matter more than reality. They also show a great amount of detail in each characters muscles similar to david. Obviously they have a very different artstyle but it's for these reasons I compare the two.

If you disagree fine but make a better argument then calling it shit posting because you disagree.

Muramasa is the best vanillaware game and the best sidescrolling action game

I hope we'll actually get something new for 13 Sentinel at TGS this year though it won't surprise me too much if it doesn't get released until 2018 or beyond

Even Vanilla Muramasa felt more unique than Odin Sphere for me. Even though Momohime and Kisuke controlled the same, it didn't get anywhere near as repetitive as OS despite OS having more characters. Maybe it was because the environments and bosses had more variety.

Eh when it comes to their action games it mostly comes down to personal preferences over setting, love D&D? then DC is your favorite, love nord setting? Then Odin Sphere Leifthrasir, love Japan? Muramasa Rebirth + DLC.

Though I'd say Muramasa only tops OS Leifthrasir because of boss variety which OS had too little of, in terms of actual combat Leifthrasir perfected the muramasa formula by allowing you to map as many skills as you want to different inputs instead of limiting you to 3 in any fight.

Don't get me wrong, I love Odin Sphere Leifthrasir and Dragon's Crown, even Grim Grimoire, but Muramasa beats them all in terms of setting, artstyle, music and gameplay imo.
Dragon's Crown may have been Kamitami's dream project, but their best game definitely is Muramasa.
God, I wish they would remaster it and release it on PS3/PS4 in 1080p
