Golden City/Black City: probably Arlathan, filled with the Blight the elven gods had taken from the Deep Roads to use it as a weapon. Solas locked it there with them too, to subject them to "an eternity of suffering", the "only fitting punishment".

When Corypheus and the other magisters went up there, they unleashed the Blight on Thedas again, although the Evanuris couldn't get free.

Blight still boils in the underground, though, probably because it was created by the Titans. That's why the Chantry says the Blight came from the Fade, while dwarves swear it's always been in the Deep Roads and it came from there. Both theories are right.

So the Evanuris are now Tainted and crazier than ever and waiting to kick Solas' ass.

It's wildly inconsistent, and really different to the previous games. It has some fantastic companions and some terrible ones (the worst in the series in my opnion), some really interesting quests and a couple of stupid ones. For the most part you can ignore most of the pointless quests, especially the resource-gathering/padding bullshit, and there are a couple of builds that are efficient enough to make the game fun or at least bearable. The writing's pretty inconsistent, too, but the worst parts can usually be ignored, and it has enough great companions to fill out a full party. It does have a lot of interesting lore, and the DLCs are pretty good, especially Trespasser. If you can get it really cheap I'd say it's worth it.

It tends to ebb and flow; it's a bit better now because (most) threads don't devolve into incoherent raging about how disappointed people are in the game.
The DLCs - especially Trespasser - did a lot to encourage people who were interested in the best parts of the game (like Solas and the delicious lore), too. He's my favourite character as well and I'm really hoping that - unlike the previous two sequels - he actually has an important role to play in the next game; especially now that they have a legitimately great writer working for them.

The only one I really remember liking was Dalish Scout armour, but the Free Army outfit was pretty good. Once you get access to top-end materials you can just craft any non-race-restricted armour you want, though.
