They listen to them quite a bit, I'd think. Tekken is a big legacy game though, so many things don't matter for casuals. Many characters have the same classic setups and key moves as they had in previous games.

At the tournament level, sure, people have differing opinions over how the movement system, Rage Arts/Drives, and new moves affect each character. Again, it doesn't matter for casual play. There's always silly shit in Tekken because that's just how it is, whether in terms of characters or story.

Tekken 6 has bounds, certain moves basically bounce an opponent so you can keep comboing. Tekken 7 still has this but moves that would bound don't now and it isn't a constant staple of combos
