Horizontal Slash is unique in that if you manage to chain it within a few frames you can stun lock bosses. It's how the Xaldin and Xigbar level 1 data fights are done (although you use duckflare for added stun and damage). You can in theory do it for any boss, but it's risky and considerably slower (the webm looks quick be he's level 99, you could kill Terra with a Firaga loop in half the time at level 99).

its alright. flowmotion mechanic is kinda broken, which leads to a lot of empty space, a huge chunk of command abilities suck, and passive abilities are locked to dream eaters until you get enough AP to unlock them. Yeah they serve as your primary party members. And are also tied in to the abilities you get.

You get 2 of them on screen as actual party members, and a 3rd is considered "in party" but only contributes by giving access to abilities.

Like say the dragon comes with SC//OM you need him to be either a party member or 3rd slot to use that ability.

The only abilities that aren't tied to pets are movement abilities IIRC (and even then some of them are)

Lingering Will functions differently from other bosses which allows you to exploit his stun.

You can do the same thing by equipping Fenrir and reducing your combo to an instant finisher and jump slashing over and over.
