I really wish they'd just give us something closer to the classic costumes. When they don't fuck around with the original design too much, like with Black Canary, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, and Fate, the result isn't too bad. But NRS always insist on giving us these edgy as fuck, overly complicated, armored up designs. But the character design all across the board is so much better in 2 than the first game still. Fuck, that game had some ugly ass designs.

And that's just one example. I think some of these original gear designs are kind of cool, but it's a sorely missed opportunity to not give us something like the classic Superman outfit, Fleischer Superman outfit, classic Captain Cold, and so on. It's weird because they go above and beyond with stuff like the premier skins, but they won't give us classic outfits.

Yeah, I think the gear works a lot better for some characters than others. Someone like Scarecrow, who doesn't have an incredibly iconic single design through history, they go crazy and make a lot of cool stuff. For people like Superman or Darkseid missing the classics really sucks.

I really just get the impression these games aren't made for comic fans, but rather people who like Batman, Superman, etc and various characters from popular TV shows or movies. To a comic fan not having Luthor in a DC fighting game is fucking egregious, but I guess to a lot of people he's a bald guy in a robot suit and isn't as "cool" as someone like Poison Ivy or Deadshot. Like, Lobo in the last game; not that he wasn't cool, but there was literally just a random surge for him and none of those people care that he's not in the 2nd game. It's a very ephemeral sort of attraction, which I associate with the intended audience of these games.

I can't bitch too much,Swamp Thing and Grodd and Cold are cool additions, but I feel like we won't see any of them come back in I3.

Same. That's my big issue with the Injustice fanbase. I get that it's a fighting game first that happens to also be a DC game, but I really wish the game were just different. I don't care for the storyline, I don't like its interpretations of the characters, I hate the edgy atmosphere, and so on.

Well, to be honest, I thought they fucked up Luthor in the first game with that awful design, but I do agree that he really should've been in. It's fucking Luthor. If they gave him something a little better as a redesign and maybe a redesigned moveset as well, I'd be pretty happy.

Idk, I kinda miss Lobo. He was a perfect fit for Injustice 1. Honestly, my one of my issues with the game is that some of the characters in the first game, like Shazam, Lobo, and my waifu Zatanna aren't in the sequel. It's a shame too, because Inj 2 looks like it's better in every way too. Kind of another missed opportunity. Like, we could've had Luthor and Brainiac in the game, and the story could've had the classic Luthor-Brainiac team up in a big way, with them both taking on Superman while Luthor schemes to betray Brainiac to save the Earth or something. And in "Shazam's" (more like Captain Marvel) case, it's just weird that he's not in, but Black Adam is. It'd be like if Sinestro were in the game but not Green Lantern. Speaking of, Sinestro's sorely missed too.

While NRS story presentation has improved immensely, I still feel MK9 was by far the best story because it embraced the silliness. MKX and Injustice have gone in this weird dark direction that doesn't really work with universes as inherently colorful and campy as DC and MK.

They totally decimated the roster of the first game. Like, when all the DLC was said and done and we had MMH, the Injustice 1 roster was honestly pretty complete in terms of DC heavy hitters. Sure some of the additions in I2 are really cool (Atrocitus, Grodd, Swamp Thing) but I wouldn't say they're absolutely essential (Darkseid probably being the closest to essential).

But then you look at the people they dropped, and it's like... Luthor, MMH, Sinestro, Shazam, Deathstroke, Nightwing. These are all must-haves IMO. I don't get it. I sincerely hope some come back as DLC (Deathstroke probably having the best chance, honestly), but it seems like NRS has a very small group of mainstays (Batman, Superman, etc) and a few SYNERGY picks per game (Cyborg, Deadshot, Zod). Everyone else is expendable. Even if we get great DLC support for I2 and we're lucky enough to get a few of the old ones back, I3 would probably just do the whole shuffle again. I just don't think we'll ever have a complete DC game again, which really sucks since I2 seems like a huge improvement over the first in every other way and I don't want to be stuck playing Gods Among Us until the end of time.

If they bring back Luthor and MMH, I can live with it. I'll even take a Luthor premier skin for Braniaic.

Injustice 1 Joker looked more like Jack Nicholson but had Heath Ledger's lip scars.

What the fuck happened that character designers collectively forgot that the Joker (and Harley) is supposed to be a fucking clown? Even Heath Ledger still looked clownish and had gag weapons, but then everything that followed doubled down hard on the dark "psycho" side of him, as if that's more important or central. There are already a bunch of Batman villains you can do that with anyway, and trying to out-dark the Dark Knight instead of contrasting him against a really colourful, whacky villain is just dumb.

The only thing edgier than the new Injustice design is the comic one where he cut his own face off and wears it like a mask. He literally looks like he's in Slipknot.
