The best part of console gaming is that it's not PC gaming.

All my friends browse /g/, watch every tech conference and update their graphics cards yearly, literally. They are simply tech enthusiasts and they all have putrid taste in games because they initially choose their ''gaming'' platform by hardware and not actual fucking games which is the route you have also chosen.

Now here's the thing, you're destined to become like that if you already aren't, you may simply use gaming as a faux for your interest in chasing technology trends but if you are someone who actually cares more about games more than frame rates and sliding graphical sliders you're going to be in for sad inevitable disappointment when you find out the best games are simply on console and PC gaming actually died years ago.

Guess what my friends play all day every day? Leauge of fucking legends. Yeah sure they'll occasionally drop $60 on the next Mirrors Edge sequel or Mass Effect only to play it for 5 minutes, tinker with graphical settings then slowly slinking back to their mobas. That's your future and there's not much you can do about it unless something changes and you stop pretending to like video games or continue to pretend to like them more than wanking yourself off to your new PC components. It's a choice but at the same time it also isn't, only time will tell.

Have fun with your crap tier western multiplats and free to play garbage in the mean time though while you try and figure out how hard you fell for the PC meme.

I have an Xbox One and I use it for racing games, third person action games and a handful of others. I find a controller significantly more comfortable for gaming, even when on my PC, and I thank the 360 controller for that.

I remember the glory days of PC from 2000-2008. PC actually had amazing exclusive games. Everything just shifted to consoles because piracy was seen as killing the platform and for some games it really was.
Games like Half life 2, rome total war, F.E.A.R., starcraft, warcraft 3, dragon age origins etc etc... those were the days. Now its just mobas and indie shit.

For cheap gaming, ps4 blows PC out of the water.
I say this as a PC gamer through and through, the only console I ever use is an 8 year old PS3 (I only play persona on it). I play all multiplats on my PC.

A mid range PC will cost 700$ (+150~250$ for decent monitor and other accessories like headset, mech keyboard etc). A ps4 slim is like 250$. The exlusives are icing on the cake.

And yes, pc exclusives are not what they used to be. a lot of cous has shifted from pc to consoles, with the result of most games going multiplat. the opposite works, since now games are developed for basically game dedicated computers and are available on steam shortly after, even titles you woul'dnt have imagined to see on pc like nier.

Ps4:
a handful of great exclusives, a lot of multiplat, netflix and shit. Sony never changes, and its good. Pretty much obligatory if you don't have a gaming pc. the controller is awful and stuffed with useless features.

Switch: maximum confy, beign both home console and portable is something you have to try to fully understand how damn confortable and useful is.
Also the joycons are great to aim and shit, hd rumble is nice and "play with a friend of the go" is not to be overlooked.
Hyped as fuck for Arms but currently it has only like a couple of exclusives worth it. Depends on what games you'd get on it, it may be worth to wait a while. ihmo totally worth.
