It's my review. I'm a user. I'm mostly shitposting. D5 is wonderful mechanically, but the characters were so disappointing that I never ended up finishing it. I stalled out on either the last or second-to-last chapter and haven't found the motivation to go back to it.

They went the "we want to appeal to a wider demographic" route with D5 so a lot of the series veterans ended up hating it while the mainstream gaming media ate it up.
I'm too lazy to go over what all is terrible about it right now, I already did three times tonight, but it isn't terribly hard to find people shitting on it that absolutely loved the previous games - excluding DD2 here since it's pretty much D5-lite and shares a lot of the same problems, they just took it even further in D5.

Only some play for 100 hours, though at the least you get a 30ish hour game otherwise.

If you are the type that had played recent fe games a lot, ir pokemon competitive, you'll probably love all the crazy mechanics in the game where you'll spend tons of time just making the best units.

I'll say d5 is the best overall in the series. Characters and story aren't quite 1 or 4, but the gameplay (even with lack of post game) make up for it. I'd say miles better then most of the other entries. I just hope if they do another, they really focus in on what matters and stop pandering to ultra niche Japanese otaku, since that's what killed the popularity in the west. People might not have been around, but the first and even second were really popular. Most were looking for a new ff tactics type game, and here came a quirky more accesable, over the top game to fill that niche. 4 and 5 have been great return to grace titles.

Recruit Metallia, get most of her class masteries to like 3*s by attacking shit on Invincibility panels in the Item World, get her a couple levels by leeching off of other units (doesn't have to be that high, like 70-80 should be plenty), get her a couple evilities that increase her damage and stats (an important one is the one that increases atk depending on how far you moved the last turn and money is power or whatever it was called), make a couple generic support units to boost Metallia's damage, go into the Asagi map at the lowest difficulty and one shot the entire map with Metallia's overload, recruit Salvatore and make her the leader of the prison squad, go torture all the Asagi's you captured with Metallia's Overload and extract their Stat Serums, feed them all to Metallia, repeat the Asagi part over and over and gradually bump up the enemies' levels through the cheat shop. Once Metallia has gotten +10m base in every stat from Stat Serums you can now move on to other shit like maxing her remaining Class Masteries. All this takes maybe 4-5h total if you are halfway decent at menuing and after you've prep'd your Metallia like that you can now get any new character you decide to level decked out with Serums in 30minutes to an hour, your first should probably be a Sage since that lets you one shot entire maps with ease.

Their stories are mostly otaku pandering with some okay humor here and there, and the main story is always easily beaten without knowing what you're doing. After that it's just grinding and number crunching, which isn't exactly hard either. It's an SRPG series without strategy.
