Name a game that fused best aspects WRPG and JRPG better. I dare you.
This game's gameplay is abysmally slow. Like really fucking slow.

its the only negative. If it could be sped up like 1.5x itd be perfect
This was a pretty competent chrono trigger clone. I remember it got a bit grindy towards the 3/4 point after the world changing calamity. I'm surprised there wasn't more similar attempts to create western jrpgs.

Even when cheating by use the Kill Everything cheat it's too fucking slow. Shit, when people hate on turn based game for being unplayable, they mean game like this.
Magic was trash too. Shared EPs(?) for the whole party? What were they thinking?
GAMES GREAT REMAKE WHEN

>saw ad for game in a magazine and thought it looked neat
>bought it around launch
>mfw it was so terrible
One of my few cases of buyer's remorse
>>377363746
whats that even mean? its just a shallower wrpg?
>>377363746
you have EXTREMELY SHIT taste if you think Septerra Core took the best of either wrpg or jrpg.

To add to this, the game has compatibility issues with Windows 10. Either the game runs at slide show FPS or you don't have cinematics. Fix probably never ever.

For $9 i got the bundle of this and shogo. I have zero regrets

These were both good, but flawed PC-only JRPGs. Any others come to mind?

Theres not many honestly. For whatever reason western jrpgs stagnated in the early 2000s.

Oh I'm already dead inside. You you damn-well if they weren't JRPGS, then they were heavily inspired by them like Shogo: MAD on PC was for FPS.
I absolutely can't stand early 3D Anime art style like those horrible Chrono Cross Cutscenes.
Grandia looked fine and so was Final Fantasy 8 and 9 but that Star Ocean shit is fucking creepy.
