I think this sounds awesome. There's a real shortage of historical fiction VNs that aren't Japanese. Don't actually call it "Westu Pointu" though. I'm a huge weeb, but I would think that's more dumb than funny, and it would be jarring every time someone said it.

Based on your writing in the OP, I'd say you should be okay to write a decent VN. Just make sure to contract out the art and music if you aren't really good at those.

No joke, I honestly think Rurouni Kenshin would make a great US adaptation taking place during the post Civil War. Kenshin would be an ex-memeber of the burgeoning US spy agency who was a famed hitman for the North. It'd deal with the changes people had to deal with as they adjusted to a life without slavery but still clearly racist. Kaoru would be the daughter of a deceased plantation owner whose former slaves stayed on as servants.

You just severely underestimate how many people use 4chan then. The acceptance rate is about twice that of Harvard, and I was accepted there (didn't attend because wowee that bill would've been high). I certainly wasn't the cream of the crop, either. Plus, there's tons of military dudes on /v/, /a/, and /k/. When you have a bunch of young men together that are extremely bored about 75% of the time, they tend to be a little nerdier than you might expect.

The tuition actually wasn't that bad by itself. It was gonna be like 40k for 4 years, I think, but I wouldn't have gotten any kind of grant from the university. Too white and my parents made too much money (although they didn't give me a dime for college). The east coast is just expensive as hell to live in compared to where I'm from, so I went somewhere else. I also qualified for more scholarships and grants at other schools. Saved like 20k by going somewhere else.
