Hey, /v/. What's your go to base/settlement builders?
>I suck at Terraria.
>Love Subnautica, but don't want to kill my enjoyment of it before release, plus keep running into bugs.
>Fuck Minecraft.
>I'd just play Fallout 4 but, I don't want to touch it until there is more mod variety as I hate most of the gameplay.
>I suck at Don't Starve.
I think I'm stuck between Banished, which I'm currently playing and Fallout 4 with mods.
Might just godmode F4 until I have a settlement I really like.
Also, bonus points if the game has spooky stuff.
dwarf
Landmark had/has the ultimate building systems but unfortunately the company is retarded and pretty much ran it into the ground.
>Space Engineers
>Rimworld
These two have gotten my attention lately, Spengies can be a lot of fun in multiplayer but is still quite buggy. I'd love some sort of medieval fantasy city builder that falls between Rimworld and Minecraft, as in being able to build large functional towns and cities but on a block by block basis.

building a colossus in Dwarf Fortress was pretty awesome
nothing else will ever really match that scale which is disappointing
>>377358141
I'm honestly scared to get into Dwarf. Just seems like I'll be biting off more than I can chew.
>>377358305
I totally forgot I had Space Engineers. I'd play it more if I had friends to play it with.
Rimworld has definitely caught my attention, but I kind of have the same issue as with Subnautica. I'd rather wait for full release (unless that's never, not sure).
Terraria

Medieval engineers is a thing.
Download the Dragon Quest Builders demo if you can. Its a really solid game.
>>377359762
Oh yeah I forgot that existed too. Might actually buy it.
>>377359670
Apparently its trash.
>>377359931
>Might actually buy it.
It has a great demo, try it out first.
>>377358093
Rust. It means so much more when everything can be taken from you at any momment
>>377358093
>Fallout 4
dont, i tried making good settlements even with mods it always looked like crap
>Fuck minecraft
literally one of the best games for building shit
>Dont starve
>Hard
Terraria you fucking faggot
So what's a better Minecraft than Minecraft that still has building/terraforming but also the exploration aspect?

>Ctrl+f
>No factorio
Factory building is the future.
>>377361007
who needs friends when you have logistics robots
Cities: Skylines
Life is Feudal: Forest Village
Sometimes an offline server of ARK.
7 Days to Die is nice because the zombie attacks give you a 'reason' to build.
Two I'm keeping my eye on are Project Eden and Fairy Tales. Also just saw block'hood on the devolver sale and might be neat, but the reviews say the ui is garbage.

>Minecraft
It's just that I already played it so much that now I can only find enjoyment if my friends are playing. And they feel the same way or worse.
>Don't Starve
I think I'm just bad at it. I get around to the point where I start making some science shit. Then I just run out of resources and die in a desperate attempt to get some.

I like Terraria a lot. But after I have my main house, I have to really force myself to keep progressing.
Also I really hate the inventory system in that game (not that I can even come up with a good alternative).
>>377361007
I thought about that. Especially after I learned it had base defense. It seems like a lot of the "fun" is in making everything efficient, which I'm not all that into.

Will check these out.
