well, /v/?
>>377355640
All maxed or music down put my own on
*speakers shaking in background
voices>sfx>music
>No option to make the music lower everytime someone speaks
its shit
>>377355640
always equal
>>377355640
Depends on the game, usually voices louder than sfx which will be louder or equal to music.
Unless the voice acting is shit then voices get muted.
how goods the music?
>>377355640
I feed my volume sliders through $30,000 of diamond-shielded virus-proof norton reality sound anchors (held up by $800 iridum floor hooks) so I don't get unnecessary sound leakage from the menu that I assure you, to my trained audiophile ears makes everything sound like a wet fart on sandpaper.
It depends.
Some games the music is too quiet, some games the voices are to quiet so I adjust accordingly.
>>377355640
Max out music, voices and SFX at 75%
>>377355640
Depends on the game. If I'm playing Skyrim, I need voices at like 10 times higher. Otherwise it depends on how good the music is or how obnoxious the sounds are.
>>377355640
Voices maxed, music at 75% and sfx at 70%
>>377355640
Music 85
SFX 75
Voices 70
>not maxing the music volume and turning SFX and Voices down
SFX sounds and character/enemy grunting get in the way of hearing some god-tier tracks.
>>377355640
Usually. If I'm playing a game with japanese voices I will have music and sfx up but voices down.
>>377355640
If the default is around 80%, that's where it stays.
80% is a fantastic default.
Usually:
>Music 10
>SFX 7
>Voices 9
Action games with cringeworthy unnecessary dialogue like Vanquish I'll just mute the voices for, & sometimes on an RPG or summat I'll mute the rubbish ambient 'music' for muh immersion
>>377357234
this
i find in a lot of games, the background music is too low to appreciate it, especially in loud action games
>>377355823
This
Music 50
SFX 75
Voice 100
Anything else is fag tier
Voices 100%
Music 80%
SFX 60%
>play new game
>ear drums blown out
>>377355640
0% music with rare exception games where i set it at 40%
20% SFX ,maybe lower
70% Voices
And if its one of those shit designed games where SFX=Voice then i completely mute it and listen to Sybreed or Dark Tranquility while playing.
>>377355640
>not learning while playing
>>377355640
Usually do SFX>Voices>Music. but never any above 75%
If you have sound effects and voices too low, you can miss out on audio cues.
>>377355640
Depends on the game really as >>377356065 said, but more often than not it's the music that needs to be adjusted to be louder.
Voices 100%
Music 80%
SFX 70%
I usually go 80/90/90And subs turned on
Lately I've been keeping SFX volume down a lot. Gets annoying in some games and can interfere with enjoying BGM
Voices a tick or two lower than BGM
>>377359118
that's a damp meme anon
>>377355640
>game has these options
>put voices to zero
>the music still lowers whenever someone would talk in battle
>tfw audio tapes are still too quiet even when voice is at 100% and everything else is at 50%
Music higher than sfx and voice in some games. Skyrims exploration for the first time with that comfy music was so great.too bad the battle music was more intense than the combat
>>377355640
I generally never touch these, as far as I'm concerned there's no point 99% of the time.
Only exception is when I'm playing Titanfall with music on in the background because nobody uses mics in pub matchmaking anyways
All racing games with music maxed while SFX and voices (if any) are about 20% lower.
Everything but SFX off if I'm feeling horny for raw engine noise and tyres screeching.
=====|======
=========|==
=======|====
Music: 75%
Everything else: 100%
No game has a good radio
>>377355640
Generally something like this.
>>377355640
Usually, 50% music, 70% SFX, 70% voices. With exceptions.
GTAV Stunt Races and Trackmania I go 0% volume and then play eurobeat. Same for times in MMOs when I know I'm gonna be grinding for a while and wanna get it done fast.
PSO2 in particular has god-tier music but the sound effects in a large party are excruciating, so 70% music and 30% SFX, voices are whatever, medium maybe.
max everything
>>377355640
Usually this, though if the music is shit I just mute it entirely and play my own stuff.
>Want to turn on subtitles
>Games always have it on either Visual or Audio settings
>Have to check both
>>377355640
>>377359042
>And subs turned on
I also do this, even with English language games.
>>377360850
no game does that though. subtitles are always a video thing, because deaf people wouldn't even check the audio menu.
>>377360850
>check audio because that makes the most sense
>no sub options
>check video because sometimes it's there
>no sub options
>look through the other menus
>sub options are in the gameplay menu
>>377360969
That's not always true. I've seen it in lots of areas. Sometimes even in the 'gameplay' catagory. Devs are weird sometimes
>>377360969
>no game does that
Plenty of games do that.
>>377361131
okay anne frank, name one
>>377355640
All max. Reach for the preamp, crank it up to 11 on 48v. Attach my low-impedance headphones. Anything else is for pussies.
>>377355640
I only adjust them when I'm testing custom music in Project M. I didn't realize people actually had preferences with this.
>>377355640
Music 0
SFX 10
Voices 5
>>377360969
Games that have separate menus for "video" and "graphics" usually have the subs in video. Games that don't usually have their subs in audio.
>>377361221
Mystery of the Druids
>Music - Off
>SFX - 1
>Voices - 1
>>377355640
>Playing WET
>music is the fucking best soundtrack ever made by man
>but you shoot literally 90% of the time and the other 10% the main char is cursing
>turn that shit down to the point I can barely hear her cursing or the gunshots
>mfw
>>377358630
I like his vids but his voice is the only thing that isn't pleasant about them
So overly british and harsh
>put music on underneath game
>have to keep alt tabbing to play with volume between songs because they're not god damn consist fuck
>for a game i've played 8 times already so i know everything anyway
Obviously depends on the game, but usually I feel like voices can get drown by other noises or by the music so I have it higher than the rest.
i keep system volume very high then turn all my vidya down.
>>377361381
A MATCH IN MY SOCK
>>377360850
>Subtitles never match the spoken dialogue
I listen to podcasts and videos while playing games.
>>377355640
Leave them at default. It's not my fault if the audio engineer didn't do his fucking job.
>>377355640
Whatever the default setting is.
>>377355640
Music at 100%, SFX 75%, voices at 0% unless there's dual audio, in which case Jap voices at 100%.
>>377361864
>not keeping your system volume very high then turning your audio receiver down
>>377361267
>>377361859

>>377355640
What genre of vidya? if it's racing SFX Max, Music zero and play my own music, everything else is Music/SFX mid and voices anywhere between 75-100%
>>377366086
>What genre of vidya?
this
absolutely vital question in regards to volume settings
Depends
If it is a fps then
music 60% voices 60% sfx 100%
rpg
music 100% voices 75% sfx 75%
Don't know 'bout other genres
>377360969
It's almost always fucking in audio, what are you on about?
>>377366086
who cares, they're all vidya. once you start trying to compartmentalize it then you compartmentalize everything, it becomes a game trying to figure out which particular subgenres need that extra 4% compared to the standard 50% settings
>>377355640
SFX>Music>Voices
Obviously you want all of them to be good if you can
