I'm still sad Battleborn flopped. I played the beta a lot and I did consider getting it since there was plenty of characters I hadn't tried and maps I didn't fully master.

It probably had even more fundamental problems than the gameplay, but I do think it might be a little too complex in some regards.

Like, I genuinely wonder if their idea of a hitbox is a giant rectangular prism that would encompass your character during any animation. It's awful to the point of being confusing how they possibly let it slide. Overwatch's hitboxes are held to a much higher standard because it's not free-to-play, it's very popular, it's billed as being a big competitive e-sports thing, and it's made by a big company, but calling them the same just makes me thing you haven't played Paladins, Overwatch, or either game at all.

Plus it only had a handful of enemies and three areas total that you just unlock more doors in occasionally. I liked the armor and weapon designs and you can look badass from start to finish but it really was not a very good game. Gauntlet damage does not scale so it's useless an hour after you pick it up. Magic or gauntlet are not viable on their own, melee with supplementary magic is all you can do. It was a very shallow, limited, and buggy game. I was a fool and paid full price for it.

I can understand why Doom purest would not like it but for what we got compared to how they could've just thrown a COD campaign with a few demons and shooting the BFG once, it was pretty fun.
