90s Nickelodeon was messy aesthetic. It was contrasting colors and obsessed with farts and snot. Look at Rugrats concept art.
2017 Nintendo is polished and bright. It focuses on neon primary colors. The only thing it shares with 90s Nick is the word 'splat'.
